I regularly see mistakes with phrases using the words “regards”or “respect”. There are several of these phrases in English, but they are easily confused and mixed up. For example, phrases like in respect to and with regards to are incorrect.

“According to…” is usually used when you restate something someone told you or something you have heard or read somewhere. It is mostly used for reporting.

EX:According to the clerk we spoke to when we telephoned the supervisory authority this morning, the application was filed last week.

How to use “In accordance with”?
“In accordance with”的用法
“In accordance with…” is used in more formal contexts to introduce the notion of conformity. In a legal context it is used for stating what conforms to the law or a contract. It is never used to introduce information that may not be true.

In some cases you can use “under…” instead of “in accordance with”, or where “in accordance with” seems too strong:

There are two ways of expressing a notice period, as follows:

Anything else, or a mixture of these two constructions, is wrong. Note than in the first example above “notice” is an uncountable noun so it cannot take “a/an”. In the second example, “notice period” is countable, so we must say “a notice period”. “One-month” is a compound adjective, so a hyphen (-) is required.

Remember that in this sense of the word “notice” is uncountable, so you cannot give somebody a notice. You can only give somebody notice. But of course you can give somebody a week’s notice because “a” refers to “week” (and means “one”). In the same way you give somebody two weeks’ notice etc.

答:这要考报考级别。如果是报考BEC中级的同学三种格式你都得准备,一般考写信机率要大些,考高级的同学要稍微轻松点,三种题型你可以根据自己所掌握的情况选择利于自己的一个题目去写。
2.BEC写作的特点?
答:BEC写作需要注意基础性问题。考中级的同学肯定有所体会,在答题的过程中大量时间是在做阅读部分,它分为两个部分,第一部分是小作文,你只需要注意格式,建议背范文;第二部分更大的难点在于阅读,所以语言基础起着很大的作用,只要看懂了题目,列出要点你就会很容易的去做,
考高级的同学相对较难,因为题目给的信息点较少。Part 1是考图表,和我们国内四六级及考研的图表写作是完全不同的,一般分为引言、主体和结论三部分。Part 2部分讲究reasoning,一个推理的.过程,侧重于考察你的思维模式,在商务情景中的实际运用。
3.备考BEC写作,大量的背范文有作用吗?
答:一般说来,BEC并不是一个纯语言的考试,中级的Part 1可以背范文,但Part 2是考察你的阅读能力,高级则是考察推理能力,着重要掌握一个写作的思路,在高级Part 1的图表题中有一定的模板,是考语言的变化性。
4.BEC写作中需要注意的事项?
答:首先要注意试卷的卷面,毕竟写作部分属于主观题,由人来阅卷;其次避免出现基本的语言错误;第三,写作中要注意英文的思维模式,中文是层层递进而英文属于开门见山。
5.在平时的学习中如何积累商务知识?
答:在阅读和听力中大量积累商务词汇,尽可能将这些词汇运用到写作中,注意深度和广度。

1.切忌主客不分或模糊,
例子: Deciding to rescind the earlier estimate, our report was updated to include $40,000 for new equipment.应改为 Deciding to rescind our earlier estimate, we have updated our report to include $40,000 for new equipment. (We决定呀, 不是report.)
2.句子不要零碎。
例子: He decided not to audit the last ten contracts. Because of our previous objections about compliance. 两个句子应该连在一起:He decided not to audit the last ten contracts because of our previous objections about compliance.
3.结构对称,令人容易理解。
例子: The owner questioned the occupant's lease intentions and the fact that the contract had been altered with ink markings. 应改为: The owner questioned the occupant's lease intentions and ink alterations of the contract.
4.单复数不要搞乱,不然会好刺眼,看着不舒服。
例如: An authorized person must show that they have security clearance. 应改为 Authorized persons must show that they have security clearance.
5.动词和主语要呼应,
想想这两个句子的分别:
1. This is one of the public-relations functions that is under-budgeted.
2. This is one of the public-relations functions, which are under-budgeted.
6.时态和语气不要转换太多。看商务英语已经是苦事,不要浪费人家的精力啊。
7.标点要准确。
例如: He did not make repairs, however, he continued to monitor the equipment. 应改为: He did not make repairs; however, he continued to monitor the equipment.
8.选词正确。像affect和effect,operative和operational等等就要弄清楚才好用啦。
9.拼字正确。有电脑拼字检查功能后,就更加不能偷懒。
10.大小写要注意。除非必要不要整个词都大写,除非要骂人。
例如: MUST change to OS immediately. 外国人就觉得不礼貌和喝令人一样。要强调的话,用底线,斜字,粗体就可以了。
