篇1:雅思口语part2事物类话题解析

The speech was given by a manager in a place I was working. He was giving a speech to say goodbye to one of our colleagues who was leaving to set up as an independent consultant, but who had worked at the organization a very long time, perhaps forty years. Everyone was sad to see this person go, as they were very popular, but we all wished them well and understood why they felt they needed to move on. It was a reasonably big workforce, so about sixty of us had gathered in the open-plan office to say goodbye and present a gift to our departing friend and co-worker.

I think sometimes ‘leaving-do’s’ can be really awkward and embarrassing Everyone stands around self-consciously and there is an excruciating and brief ‘goodbye and thank you’ from the boss, and then everyone stares at the poor person who is leaving whilst they rip open and read a rapidly bought card and mumble their thanks for a rather anonymous gift. This, however, was different. Our manager had made a real effort to prepare a good speech that was funny, well-researched, engaging and genuinely affectionate.

I think the speech was good because it involved everyone, shared funny (but not too private) stories that were relevant to the leaver, and the effort our boss had put into preparing it showed his respect and admiration for the colleague who was departing. The quiz also gave everyone something to talk about, so people could chat and mingle a bit after the presentation. It was also not too long! It held interest, and was appropriate for the context.

篇2:雅思口语part2事物类话题解析

The language I want to learn is Cantonese. It is mainly used in Guangdong Province and Hongkong. Though it shares some vocabulary with Mandarin, the two varieties have huge differences in pronunciation, grammar, and lexicon. Many Chinese in the north including me cannot understand it at all.

One of my roommates is from Guangdong. Every evening, he calls his mother and talks about what happens in the school in Cantonese. After two years, I unconsciously learned two or three words, but that is all. I still do not know what he says. There are many books and videos that teach people how to speak Cantonese. I may buy some in the future.

The best place to learn Cantonese is definitely Guangdong or Hongkong. Most people, especially the elders there, still speak this native language. In fact, I believe to truly master a language, you have to go to its origin and immerse into the local culture.

I want to learn this language because I am quite into Hongkong films. They used to be very popular in the 1990s and leave a deep impression on a generation. But so far, all the Hongkong films I have watched are dubbed with mandarin. They are not bad, but I believe something must have missed during the process. So I want to learn this language so that I can experience the original films.

Ok right then, well I’m gonna talk about is the English class I had during my primary school, which I guess must have been about ten or eleven years ago by now.

It was the first time that I was given a class by a foreign teacher. At that time, our English teacher introduced an American young guy to us. Out of curiosity, most of us swarmed around him. Then, he had a free talk with us in simple but humorous English. He spoke quite slowly and clearly so that we could follow him well. Meanwhile,he would repeat just in time what students did not understand. Greatly inspired, most of the students took an active part in asking him questions and interacting with him. So the atmosphere was quite alive during the whole class. And... I have to say that through this lesson, we all improve our oral English and the courage to speak another language other than our mother tongue.

When comparing this to most of the classes we had at that time, where we basically just went through the textbook and took notes, it was a thousand times more interesting, and of course, meaningful. Actually, from this lesson, I came to the conclusion that it is not so difficult to learn English if we talk more in it And L also learned that English can act as an interesting and useful tool in communications with foreigners if we’re good at it.

When I was in middle school I learned how to use a calculator to save money. A simple formula helps me to work out how to skimp and scrape every penny and the benefits are plentiful. The skill involves basic arithmetic and the ability to budget and manage your finances. It is an absolute vital skill that everyone needs to learn at some point in life.

I had the class when I was about 13 years old and the teacher showed us some great tricks of the trade. When she first presented it to us, I was completely bamboozled and confused. However, within a few days it all started to fall into place and make sense to me.

Our teacher was a middle-aged lady with a warm smile and calm manner. She was the most inspiring teacher I have ever had and was a real salt of the earth character. I remember how patient she was and how her eyes would light up when she spoke of money!

Even though I learned this skill when I was a pimply-faced teen, to this day I have still made use of the formulas. When I started living on my own, finance became more important as I had bills to pay. I draw on these skills on a weekly basis and they have been a Godsend.

In recent years, online courses are becoming popular. Because of that, I have been starting to go online more often. Have you heard about Netease Open Class? That's the website I spend most of my time on.

A course mate of mine was the one who first recommended it to me and I’m very grateful for him. By cooperating with well-known universities all over the globe, this website offers free online courses. You can even find some courses or lectures delivered by prestigious professors. To use the full function of this website, you first have to be a registered member and then you can access all the courses. Sometimes, I spend hours surfing and clicking there, just to listen to some of the talks or speeches. It’s a platform that has allowed me to learn all kinds of things that I had never come across before. It's actually great news for those who aren’t enrolled in their desired university, but want to attend certain courses or lesson delivered by a specific professor. There are constant updates and the universities upload some of their latest lessons onto the platform so that it's beneficial to more and more people.

With modern technologies, knowledge can be spread in an easier and more efficient way. I'll keep using this website as long as it's available to the public.
