1.抓好语音,强调诵读词汇学习第一关是会读,而正确的读音也有助于学生正确记忆单词,因为读音的正确与否往往与词的掌握程度成正比。我认为教师有必要在语音方面对学生加强训练,如每节课前花2~3 分钟时间帮助学生复习音标,同时也要求学生注意音标的拼读以及单词的重音,在英语早自习时播放磁带让学生跟读单词或课文等。另外,教师还可从课文中或课外挑选一些优美的段落和 篇章让学生自己进行诵读,并在班内举行朗读比赛,增加学生朗读的积极性,也为学生练习语音创造良好的条件。
2.科学记忆,突出主次,循序渐进教师可以把课后的单词根据重点程度进行标注划分:标注黑体的是课标词汇,即重点单词,学生不仅要会读、会写,还需知道其意思并学会运用;打“△”的是行文需要的词汇,大都为地名或人名,学生不需记忆;剩下的为话题拓展词汇,学生需要知道其音、形和义,但不要求运用。明确了主次之后,再把课后单词拆分为几个小版块,要求学生每天大约记10 个左右的单词,先记课标词汇,再记话题拓展词汇。另外,根据艾宾浩斯遗忘定律,输入大脑的信息如果要在大脑中保持长久的记忆,必须不断地加以重复、再现。因此,为了帮助学生长效地巩固所学的单词,必须加强对所学单词的温习、复习,以巩固记忆的效果。
3.传授方法,训练策略
(1)翻译法翻译法就是把英语单词用中文或简单的英文翻译出来,最好鼓励学生用简单的英文翻译单词,这种方法比较直接,也能训练学生运用已学的词汇。
(2)构词法英语中许多词汇是由词根加词缀构成的,教师应传授学生基本的构词法知识,以利于学生更好地记忆单词。常用的构词法有:复合词,是由二个或者二个以上的词根组成的单词,如earthquake,bathroom,housework, footprint, arm⁃chair等。派生词,分为词根加后缀和词根加前缀。后缀一般是改变词性,词义基本保持不变,如:careful—careful⁃ness,hope—hopeful, educate—educa⁃tion, home—homeless 等;而前缀一般是改变词义,不改变词性,如:advan⁃tage—disadvantage,possible—impossi⁃ble, marry—remarry,happy—unhappy等。词性转换,有部分单词不需要添加任何前后缀本身就具有不同的词性,如seat(n.)座位—seat (v.)使就座,smoke(n.) 烟—smoke (v.) 抽烟,desert(n.)沙漠—desert(v.)舍弃, 遗弃。同时要求学生注意词性变化的同时发音的变化。
(3)猜词法在平时的学习中,学生或多或少会遇到一些课文没有而自己又不会的单词。这时,可让学生根据构词法以及上下文语境进行猜测,即猜词法。猜词法是一项必须掌握的阅读技能,也是拓展词汇的较好的方法之一。
(4)词典法查字典是高中生必须会的一项技能。学生在遇到生词时,如果猜测不出,这时可考虑查字典。另外,对于一些重点词汇,在平时的学习中,也可通过查阅字典的方式了解其具体用法。
(5)游戏法单词学习本身是一件比较枯燥的事,如何让学生对单词学习感兴趣呢?我认为可以在教学中加入适当的游戏活动,比如猜词、拼词的游戏等,这些活动应便于学生课后自己操作,这样可以寓教于乐,也可以增加学生学习词汇的兴趣。
4.多样检测,巩固效果习惯的养成除了自觉外,还需要一定的外部监督。因此,在培养学生养成良好词汇学习习惯的同时,教师应承担监督职责,发挥监督作用。检测是监督的一种有效方式,有利于教师了解学生单词掌握的情况,也能让学生对自己的学习情况进行了解,从而采取有针对性的措施。当然,检测方式应多种多样,力求调动学生的学习兴趣。如定期在班级举行单词竞赛,逐层淘汰,最后评出一、二、三等奖若干名,第一名的学生还可获得“单词能手”的称号。另外,教师在具体教学中还可设计Vocabulary bank 的游戏,进一步帮助学生检测和提高单词记忆的效果。Vocabulary bank 可以很好地检测学生对所学单词的音、形、义以及具体用法的掌握情况。
1. 结合上下文
结合上下文语境记忆词汇是最为有效的策略之一。一个单词只有放在具体的语境中才有确切的意思,也只有在具体的语境中我们才能真正体会到它的用法。如:
①China is a country with a long history.
②We spent a pleasant day in the country.
③We watched the country out of the window.
显然,country这个词在不同的语境中含义不一样:句①中指“国家”,句②中指“乡村或乡下”,句③中指“田野或旷野”。
像country这样一词多义的单词很多,在课外进行大量泛读对掌握这一类词很有帮助。通过大量的积累、归纳和比较,我们才可以得心应手地运用单词。
2. 利用词典
在平时的学习中,应该养成勤查词典的好习惯。遇到生词或者自己不熟悉的搭配和用法就要查词典,掌握其含义和用法。但是在使用词典时,要做到:
①适当取义。浏览该词的各项含义,找出最适合该语境的含义。有的学生查词典后把该单词的几个主要含义都记下来,这叫“词典搬家”,不能解决实际问题。
②适当拓展。了解有关该词的其他信息,如含有这个词的短语、用法注释、同义词、反义词等。
3. 掌握一定规律
掌握合成词以及前缀、后缀等派生词的构成规律后,遇到生词时往往就可以利用构词法猜测出它的意思。例如,前缀semi-表示“(一)半”,那么就容易推出semicircle是“半圆”。另外,归类法也是记忆单词的好方法。意义上的相近、相反及读音、词形、所属范畴的相近等都可以成为加强记忆的手段。将同类的一组词放在一起记忆,当遇到其中一个词时,脑海中就会浮现出一组词,这样效率就大大提高了。如:可以把表示“笑”的词汇smile, laugh, giggle等放在一起来记。
4. 复习与巩固
词汇的巩固十分重要。要想扩大词汇量,就必须防止单词遗忘的现象。最好的方法是进行多次重复,定期把已学过的单词加以系统整理归纳以帮助记忆。对最常用的、能与其他的词大量搭配的单词有计划地集中复习。具体方法如下:
①列表记诵法。把学过的单词写在本子上,随身携带,利用零碎时间复习记忆。初学英语时,多半采用这种方法。复习时可逐步淘汰十分熟悉的单词,集中记忆较难的单词。
②系统记忆法。单词积累到一定量时,可以把单词按系统分类归纳。各个系统中(如衣、食、住、行、学习、问候等)可以包括不同词性的词和一定数量的短语。在复习到某系统中的一个单词时容易联想起与它有关的单词。
③实物或图片法。在初学阶段,可以利用实物、图片、模型来学习单词。用这种方法记忆单词形象直接,可以留下深刻的印象。
④语句学习法。单词的词义和用法在不同的短语、句子中是不尽相同的。可以通过不同的短语、例句理解单词的词义并记忆、巩固单词。
另外,我们还可以通过英汉互译、朗读与背诵、单词的转化等巩固记忆单词。

It is even worse to examine the objects on the desk while the manager is answering the telephone, to listen to the conversation - and perhaps offer a comment afterwards. 求职者在申请职位时,最重要的.是撰写一份配合职位所需的履历表。随着电脑科技的快速发展,众多大公司都采用一些电脑软件来扫描数以千计的履历表,储入其电脑资料库之中。因为电脑可以代为执行挑选工作,节省很多时间。要被电脑选中,也需留意许多窍门。你的履历表必须包含一些其电脑所找寻的”魔术字眼“(Magic Words)。
不同职位有不同的需要,你可以从招聘广告或该职位的职责范围中找到。试用红笔圈出一些描述资历、经验、技能和其他要求的主要字眼(Key words),然后确定所有字眼都显示在履历表当中。最佳方法莫如将这些主要字眼包含在你的成就(Accomplishments)列当中。
为确保这些主要字眼没有遗漏,可在做文字处理时加上Key words在末段,完成后再清除。如果因使用不同的描述方式而有所重复也没有什么害处,但遗漏了则可能失去获选的就业机会。如果你能将职位所需的技能都放在履历表上,获选的机会必然增加。为确保你的电子履历表由电脑扫描不会产生问题,可做以下改动:
1.清除斜体、粗体、底线和括号。
2.清除阴影、图案和线条。
3.避免使用项目符号(Bullets)及跳格键(TAB)
4.在首行清除你的名字以外的任何东西。
5.只使用普通常用字型,大小由10点至14点为限。
6.用句号或逗号类分割主要字眼。
7.所有主要字眼需用名词,例:Purchasing Raw Materials. Electronic. Components. Drafting. Blueprints. Product Development.
8.以文本格式(TEXT)存档,以便不同软件皆可阅读。尤其在网上申请工作时,一般都要用ASII档案,并需要用剪贴(Cut & Paste)方法放在履历表栏内。所以,电子履历表是网上求职必需的。
9.如附在电子邮件送出,应先送自己以作测试,以确定不会出现问题。

Don't be polite!” can you believe it?
B: Actually, I can well believe it. It's a Chinese way of expressing his being humble and reserved. But most often the speaker doesn't really mean refusal unless he firmly insists. Chinese people don't easily accept the given things only when he has contributed to the giver or there is an intimacy. And they don't want their friends “pofei” which means to spend money.
A: What did he mean by refusing to accept a present from me then?
B: I don't think he was actually refusing to accept a present from you. It was just his way of being “polite”. He didn't mean to be rude and certainly he didn't mean to offend you.
A: Well, how do you like that? And what was I supposed to do or say in such a situation?
B: You should first understand that Chinese people are not straightforward in some situation. In such a situation I suggest you just insist, and if your friend is an elderly gentleman, you probably have to insist several times, but even then I doubt if he will ever give you a direct answer. Or you can buy him a gift directly without asking him. I think he will be satisfied with whatever you buy him. Actually what counts is your good intention.
A: So you mean buying a gift is a good choice than not, right?
B: I think so.
A: Thank you.
