She is often seen by historians as a seductive, potentially poisonous temptress, however this is not necessarily how Hughes-Hallet interprets her; to her she is plainer, more ambitious and less cruel. I think it is difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to ancient history and especially in this case someone as constantly redesigned as Cleopatra.
History has taught me to make substantiated judgments and to interpret and analyse external material as well as my own opinions. I find History intriguing because it gives me the opportunity to study the development of human society over a long-term. My inquisitive mind has further contributed to my enthusiasm for the subject and I enjoy working independently. But all three of my subjects have honed my writing skills, to be able to select and organise knowledge and communicate it coherently and concisely. More specifically, Sociology has been helpful in discerning social trends, and understanding something of the human psyche; and English Literature allows me to study works, in context. All these skills will enable me to read History at university.
I enjoy visiting museums and monuments of history when I have the opportunity. I particularly love the trench experience at the Imperial War Museum and more ancient history- such as the ancient human occupation of Britain - at the National History Museum.
I work well within a team, but also have the necessary attributes to lead if I am called upon, demonstrated in my active participation in my school's Charities Committee for the past six years, organising various charity events throughout the school. My work as secretary of the Charities Committee allows me to represent the school in the community and has taught me management and organisation skills. In school I have also been a keen participant in the orchestra in which I am lead violinist in school and also play for the borough. Born in June x, I grew up in Lanzhou, a city that boasts of a history ofthousands of years and a cultural heritage that is as colorful as it is old. Fewcities, either in China or beyond, can match it in the richness of architecturalstyles. Stradding the upper Yellow River that sired the Chinese civilization,Lanzhou prides itself in both her past glory laden in the ancient structures onthe north bank and her new found prosperity oozing out of the dazzlinghigh-rises in the south. Although, as a child, I was not always able toarticulate my admiration for such striking contrast, I constantly beheld thecity's landscape in awe. I began to understand, at that young age, thatarchitecture can be a powerful symbol of culture, a people and the spirit of anera.
My first intellectual mentor, one of my parents' best friends, was anartist seasoned in oil painting and photography. She often brought me with herwhen she traveled, and it was on these trips that her creative mind worked infull gear. I thus observed how human hands could work wonders by recreating thebeauty of natural scenery in the form of sketches, paintings and photos. Whatwas more important, I got to know that there are professions of creative workthat calls for imagination and craftsmanship.
Fervent with creative art and fascinated with architectural design, Ientered in 1992 into the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University,China's top engineering school, on the strength of my outstanding performance inthe highly competitive National University Entrance Examinations.
At Tsinghua, I went through five years of vigorous training and thusacquired exquisite skills in drawing and design. Since I understood from earlychildhood that inspiration often comes from nature, I traveled far and widethroughout China's vast territory, setting my foot even in outlying Tibet andXingjiang, both in the country's westernmost interior. These travels allowed meto trace modern China's culture to its different sources, and the variety notonly deeply impressed me but also fired my imagination. In my graduationproject, Cashi Contemporary Art Museum in Xinjiang, I successfully blended anatural environment into my artistic design by using a system of watercirculation to support and sustain the building. As the most significantresource in an agricultural enclave surrounded by desert, water represents hopefor both the people and their land. With the water circulation system, thebuilding took on added vitality.
In mid-, I graduated with my B. S. and took a job as a designer withthe Beijing-based “company.” My career as an architect thus took off.
Once I have settled into the real world of architectural design, Ideveloped my career path quickly, playing substantial roles in a stream ofprojects. To date, my most significant responsibility has been to work as a maindesigner in (a key state) project, in which I led a group of my colleagues inmeeting a daunting challenge. My interest in the building structure can be traced back to my success in high school years, when I excelled my fellow classmates in physics and geometry. This not only fired off my interest in structural design but also helped to lay solid groundwork for my undergraduate studies in civil engineering, which heavily involved mechanics in physics and solid geometry.
With excellent scores in the compulsory national university entrance examination, I won acceptance in 1991 into the Beijing Polytech University, one of China’s top 10 engineering schools, particularly well-known for its structural engineering. For five years at this university, I received strict and thorough training in areas such as building structures, building materials. Soil mechanics and foundation, concrete and masonry structures, construction, steel structure and earthquake resistant structure. I also took every opportunity to participate in co-po work and projects commissioned by construction and design companies.
Opportunities abound for civil engineers and civil engineering students in China, which now houses the world’s fastest growing major economy. At every year’s job fair held on the campus of the Polytech University, more than 200 positions compete for 60-odd graduating students. Under such circumstances, undergraduate students in their fifth year are also in high demand for internship at various construction companies and design institutes. Virtually every student gets a full workload immediately upon starting the internship and assumes considerable responsibilities soon afterwards.
I became the luckiest among the lucky by winning a rare opportunity for any civil engineer: to participate in the design of the Beijing Western Railway Station, the largest urban structure in China up to date. This happened while I interned, along with five other schoolmates, at the Beijing Architectural Institute. This institute has designed virtually all the modern landmark buildings in China, including the famous Great Hall of the People and the Museum of Revolutionary History on the Tiananman Square, the Beijing Railway Station and the Asian Games Village. It was on the strength of my academic merits that I got to enjoy these opportunities.
The Western station project in Beijing consisted of the mail hall (70,000 square meters), south wing building group (40,000 square meters) and north wing building group (35,000 square meters). My task was to assist in the design of a shopping centre in the south wing which had 16,000 square meters. I independently accomplished a quarter of the design for the whole building, mainly responsible for the foundation design, calculation and drawing of steel distribution of beam, floor, columns and concrete piles. I cherished this opportunity to apply the knowledge I had learned in the classroom to the real world problems and I worked with my utmost dedication.
I, however, soon found out that, even in this monumental project, design techniques applied in many cases left much to be desired. When treating the wind load, the earthquake force and the effect of frozen soil, historical data and intelligent estimates were used in place of accurate measuring. This phenomenon made me determined to improve my knowledge and skills in a graduate program that can teach sophisticated know-how, such as yours.

日本留学要求
1、语言要求
去语言学校进修日语,对申请者的日语也是有一定的要求的,至少要有N5的水平,或者拿到F级、NAT5级的证书,还要有国内培训机构开的180个课时以上的语言学习证明。
专门学校,即商学院、医学院等专业化的高等院校,需要有N2的水平;而申请综合类的大学,一般要求N2以上的水平,具体则需要看大家所申请的专业。
其中文科和法学还有经济类的专业,一般都要有N1的证书,理工科和艺术专业,N2基本上就可以申请一般的大学了,则要有N1申请才会比较保险,需要尽量提高自己的口语能力。
2、学历要求
以申请的阶段为例,申请语言学校、专业学校和大学,必须要完成的教育,读完高中,才拥有递交申请的资格,前两者接受高中外的职高和技校的申请,后者只接受高中的毕业生申请。
申请研究生和修士,则需要至少完成的学校教育,接受本科生的申请,也接受三校生的申请,其中研究生是修士的预科阶段;后者就是我们了解的硕士。

3、成绩要求

“Women aren’t suited for such hard subjects,” my friend Seung-woo told mewith a smug smile. Seung-woo didn’t think that mathematics was a field forwomen. Although he was my age and wasn’t tied down by most traditional beliefs,he believed that only men could be true mathematicians. Mathematics has always given me a deep sense of satisfaction. Even inelementary school, I was attracted to the precision and logic inherent inmathematical formulas. I had the opportunity to test my skills and knowledgein high school, when I competed in several national math competitions, includingthe Korea Mathematical Olympiad. Despite my strong interest and achievement in mathematics, it has beendifficult for me to realize my potential due to the Korean educational system,which emphasizes cramming for tests instead of critical understanding. Moresignificantly, Korean social biases against women in the fields of math andscience have discouraged me from pursuing my love of mathematics. Thus, I wantto study in the United States, where I will be able follow my dream withoutthese constraints. For about a year, I have taken English language courses at auniversity in Washington, D.C., where I have gained a glimpse of Americanacademic life from the inside. My passion for psychology is deeply rooted in my interest in philosophy,epistemology and the understanding of human happiness. I sincerely believe inthe practical benefits of a life spent helping others, fully investing in thecultivation of empathy and compassion. With this end in mind I have alwayssought out challenging and rewarding opportunities to work with people and tostudy human relationships and problems.
I have had a long history of psychology related work experiences. I wasfirst employed at the Salt Lake City International Airport assisting physicallyand mentally disabled passengers navigate the terminal. Although the spectrum ofmental illness I was exposed to at this job was small compared to a lot of mylater positions, the airport served as a magnifying glass for human diversityand opened my eyes to the world beyond my local culture. There are few places onearth where you can find so much ethnic, cultural, religious and ideologicaldiversity so densely packed into a single building.
I was later employed as a Psychology, English and Math tutor for WeberState University working one on one with students by appointment. This joballowed for much more intimate, collaborative relationships and taught me a lotabout the process of learning. At this point I officially switched my major fromcivil engineering to psychology and my general interest in philosophy andepistemology began to focus through psychology.
I then worked as a Lead Staff at several different residential assistedliving facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities. I workedclosely with clients on a daily basis, often spending nights at the homes onsleep or waking graves or working doubles taking clients to company events andactivities. This was not simply a job for me, but a subculture I was completelyimmersed in as many of my close friends worked for the same company and weserved the same population of developmentally delayed individuals in the Ogdenarea. After leaving this job I later participated in community service through acompany called enable that employed many of the clients I had worked withpreviously.
Following avatar, I began employment as a Mental Health Worker on a youthsex offender unit at Benchmark Behavioral Health Hospital. I had the opportunityto sit in on group therapy sessions and to observe the peer interactionsthroughout the day. This was a very intense work environment, filled nearlydaily with extreme violence and verbal aggression. The turnover was incrediblyhigh at this job, and I learned to operate professionally in a high stressenvironment. I witnessed and was part of some powerful emotional experiences atthis job. I watched the adolescents grow into adults and deal with some veryserious issues stemming from dark and troubled pasts. It was when a youngpatient who seemed emotionally numb since his arrival opened up to me in thetimeout room, crying for over an hour about his regrets and frustrations that Idecided definitely that I wanted to pursue clinical psychology. I'll neverforget him saying, “It just feels good to tell someone you know, to talk aboutall this stuff, thanks for listening to me”.
I currently work as a Psychiatric Technician at the University of UtahState Hospital, as an Employment Counselor for the State of Utah, and as aresearch assistant at the University. As a Psychiatric Technician I see patientsat their most acute symptoms. Since it is a crisis ward, I have the opportunityto interact with patients when they are first admitted and have been throughvery recent psychological and/or physical trauma. Patients are often extremelydelusional and having homicidal and suicidal ideations. As a psychiatric tech Ihave seen first hand a wide variety of diagnosis and what those diagnosistranslate to in terms of actual personally observed behavior.
I am also currently working with Dr. Diamond on a study looking at theformation and functioning of adolescent and adult attachment relationships, aswell as the different ways our attachment styles affect our closestrelationships over long periods of time. As a research assistant, the nature ofthe study is such that I am involved in a wide variety of experimentaltechniques. At the lab I have experience with video editing, dvd dubbing, dataentry, several forms of physiological equipment placement and data recording, aswell as many general computer and organizational tasks. I have had directexposure with participants in the study and seen first hand how theseparticipants' experiences in the lab translate to data.
I am particularly interested in working with Dr. Strassberg as much of hiswork deals with human sexuality and my interest in this area is substantial.Having worked with sex offender youth I would love to be involved in anyresearch in the area of adolescent sexual disorders or dysfunction. I find Dr.Florsheim's research of interest as well particularly the Adolescent Developmentand Outreach program. Aside from my desire to work with troubled youth, my otherresearch interests are quite broad ranging from ACT therapy, cognitivebehavioral therapy, positive psychology, the psychology of faith and religion,effective parenting styles, cohabitation, and marriage.
Throughout my life these experiences have allowed me to work closely withpeople, and many have allowed for and encouraged the development of therapeuticrelationships with patients or customers. This work experience has been veryvaluable in exposing me to real world scenarios where people are struggling tocope with mental and/or physical illness. Being involved directly and indirectlywith many different organizations that work to improve the lives of theseindividuals has helped me to gain a better more eclectic perspective on thetreatment of mental illness in our society. The knowledge I have gained from myschooling and my actual patient exposure work together to form a solidfoundation of practical and technical knowledge about clinical psychology andmental illness in general. Although my work could hardly be considered equitableto working as a licensed therapist, the experiences have done a lot in preparingme and priming my mind for more serious and involved study for psychology ingraduate school.
