要写好一篇文章，并非易事，需要注意下列事项：
一、确定主题。
做事情不能没有目的，写文章不能没有主题。一篇文章作者要告诉读者什么，反映什么思想，提出什么主张，要心中有数，否则文章会杂乱无章。
二、选取素材。
主题确定之后，就要围绕主题选取相关的素材。材料越丰富，文章就会越生动，才会言之有物。写文章所选的材料要有代表性，且必须具有说服力，这样读者才会信服。同时材料还应充实。
三、制定提纲。
写好提纲是一篇文章成败与否的关键。我们写文章的目的是什么，怎样才能达到这一目的，这些就必须经过认真思考。材料怎样组织，你用什么方式与读者交流才能达到最佳效果，这些都要考虑好。然后将所有这些加以条理化，作为写作时的依据和参考，这就是提纲。写提纲要主题突出，层次清楚，这样写出的文章段落才能过渡自然，浑然一体，读者才会感到文章的“美”和强大的说服力。
四、打草稿。
有了提纲，我们就可以着手写作了。一般讲，文章有三个基本组成部分：开头、主体和结尾。开头一般用于向读者交代文章的中心思想和主题，即破题。主体即正文则是主题的展开与深化。结尾则是对主题的概括与总结等。
五、反复修改。
一稿完后，不要忙于抄写，要多思考多修改几遍。检查时，要看看选词是否恰当，句子是否得体，也要注意是否有拼写、语法、标点等错误。好的文章都是多次修改的结果。
步骤指导 第一步：定体裁、中心审题准——审题确定方向，行文紧扣主题
根据提示，首先要弄清写何种体裁的文章，是记叙文、说明文、应用文，还是议论文。无论提供材料的方式是文字描述，还是图画或表格，要求文章的主要体裁是唯一的。
近几年全国卷写作考查书信类居多，在确定是应用文的书信类之后，还要审是建议信、请求信、道歉信还是推荐信等，要求写的是说明介绍、解释原因还是计划安排等。
第二步：定要点、人称、时态要点准——要点全而不漏
要点要全：根据要点提示，提取keywords, 拟定topic sentences。定要点时要弄清什么该写，什么不该写;哪些该详写，哪些该略写。
一、三段成文，段段紧扣主旨
考研英语大作文一般为图画作文，可安排为三段式结构，每个段落都为图中所表达的中心主旨服务。
1.第一段：考生应根据所给的漫画的文字叙述内容，提炼漫画的主题。漫画的主题来源于漫画中展现的内容及解释漫画的文字叙述。根据要求拟定文章提纲，确定文章结构以及思想。第一段的主要内容为图画描述以及全篇文章的中心主旨句。
2.第二段：分两至三个分论点，文中可以附加例子来对中心论点进行论证和照应。
3.第三段：总结作者独特观点，在此深化印章中心论点，并提出建议、建议的原因以及解决措施。
二、段首点睛，写好中心主旨句
各个段首是做文章最重要的句子，一方面句首一般为段落的中心主旨句，在对图画进行整体和细节的描述之后，对整个段落进行总结，提炼出中心主旨句。另一方面，段首是阅卷老师首先看到的句子，阅卷老师的“第一眼”直接决定了考生的作文成绩。闪光的段首句可以画龙点睛，从而提高整体的作文分数。
三、尾句升华，完美展现功底
结尾句与段首句同样重要，有一个好的结尾总述段落，回扣全文的中心主旨，是一篇文章结构完成与否的重要前提。同样，段尾句也是阅卷老师落眼的“宝地”，漂亮的结尾是能让考生英语功底良好的展现出来。要写好段落结尾句，首先应该做到没有语病，其次是语言表述够新颖，最后，做到升华主旨，让文章完美收官。
步骤：
1、为了确保文章条理清晰，时间标记有时是必要的，如：描述一件过去的事会经常用到过去时，写频繁发生的事或人物的描写，一般是要用现在时。在同一篇文章中不能出现好几个人称，人称必须得保持一致，首尾呼应，不要随意改动，以免造成误解。
2、不能为了所谓的“一鸣惊人”而用一些比较生冷的词汇做铺垫，有些词你不会用，不明白，不理解，不知道如何搭配，就尽量少用，避免它的出现，不然会使文章显的语句不通顺、生硬、不协调，甚至错误百出，所以尽量用自己比较熟悉的，会的，利用自己熟悉的词来替换那些不懂得生词，这样会减少失分。例：一起突发事故，我们通常用“have an accident ”来表示，不要错误的使用“have an incident”。
3、注意不同语言的表达习惯，也是写好英语作文的重要环节，如“我的理想是做一名歌手”，很多同学写成“My ambition is to do/make a singer，” “to do”表示“做”或者“干”，“to make”表示“制作”，而“做一名歌手”则表示“成为一名歌手”应该用“be/become a singer”；又如“看书、看报”应用“read a book/newspaper”，而不是“see a book/newspaper”。因此，平时应该注意不同语言的表达习惯，切忌望文生义或一味生搬硬套。
4、有些同学因怕出错而只写短句或简单句，写出的文章过于幼稚、空洞乏味。要使文章有血有肉就要把平时学的知识用进去，如：定语从句、宾语从句、非谓语动词和比较等句型，关键时用上一、二个，就能使文章不同凡响，更有文采，特别是对关联词的使用，如“so that”、“not…but ”“not only...but also”等，会使你的文章逻辑结构紧密、层次鲜明、条理清楚，更能显示出你的英文功底，但要做到这些并非一日之功，要靠平时的不断训练和积累。
5、最简单的增分点就是认真的书写。工整漂亮的书写会给评卷老师留下美好的第一印象，在扣分时自然会“手下留情”，而且很多地区都在写作上有1分的书写分。只要平时多下点功夫，得到这一分并不难。
注意事项：
最后将中考写作的基本步骤和技巧归纳为以下几个环节：
1、细心审题细读题目中每一项提示或观察所给的每一幅画，明确文章的中心思想，弄清题意，确定写作体裁，掌握所要表达的要点做到心中有数，避免随心所欲，文不对题。
2、理顺要点在所给提示或图上标出要点，然后按事件先后的顺序或各要点之间的内在联系排序，分出层次。如果是看图作文，则要按图构思，这样做既可避免要点遗漏，又可使表达内容条理清楚。
3、构成框架将理顺的要点或每幅图画的含义加以连贯，构成写作的整体框架，进一步定人称、定时态语态、定顺序、定段落、定开头结尾。基本框架构成后，写作就有了把握。
4、组织句子用自己最熟悉的短语或句型将理顺的要点逐句表达出来，多用简单句，用有把握的复合句。要扬长避短，避难就易。若遇到表达障碍，可换一种说法，将一句变成两、三句，只求达意。
5、串句成篇将写好的句子连贯地组织起来，注意上下句的逻辑关系，适当采用递进、让步、转折、因果等关联词语，使短文浑然一体，层次分明，过渡自然。6、检查修改文章草成后，默读1～2遍，检查修改，尤其要注意人称、大小写、拼写、习惯用语、格式有无错误，要点有无遗漏，文句有无语病，词数是否恰当，行文是否连贯。
英语写作水平的提高是一个渐进的过程，只要同学们在平时多加训练，多读文章，做一个有心人，就能在中考作文中取得理想的成绩。
