Finding an apartment, dealing with leases and the landlord’s regulations, cooking meals, and figuring out budgets are all good practice for life after graduation. This kind of independence helps older students grow in adulthood.
Off-campus housing also gives students a better perspective on what’s going on around them. Campuses can be like little worlds of their own. There are few children or older people and everyone is focused on education. Getting to know neighbors who aren’t students is good for students coming from different places. It’s a chance to find out what other people think and feel.
I think a combination of two years on-campus and two years off-campus is a winning combination for most students.

因___________班 同学及家长的强烈要求，住宿校外。为了加强管理，杜绝安全事故发生，分清安全管理责任。
学生及家长作出如下承诺：
一、家长是学生的法定监护人，对子女的'教育管理负责。在走读期间家长履行以下管理职责：
1．学生走读期间家长作为监护人，因校外住宿而导致的人身、财产、交通、饮食等一切安全责任由家长全权负责。

二、走读生的职责
1.走读生办理走读胸卡，离、入校要自觉接受门卫对佩戴走读胸卡的检查。除了参加学校、班级集体活动外，一律按时回家，不在校内外逗留。
2.走读生入、离校时间已知道。
3.走读胸卡由学工处办理，若有遗失，及时申请补办，走读胸卡限本人使用，不转借、造假。在籍就读期间若有违规现象，由学校将给予纪律处分。
此协议有效期自签订之日起到就读结束之日止。

9、外宿生在校外期间的所有安全，由外宿生本人和家长负全责。外宿生在校外发生的任何安全事故、财产问题，与学校无关，学校不承担任何责任。
10、校外居住学生保证如出现考试不及格现象、受到处分或平均学分绩点低于2.0，必须立即返回学校集体宿舍，集中学习生活。
