出乎意料，这部外国影片很吸引了我。片中讲述了英法百年战争时，圣女贞德带领法国军队对抗英军的入侵，支持查理七世加冕，为法国胜利作出了巨大贡献，可是后来她被勃垦第公国所俘，宗教以异端和女巫的罪名裁决她，最终将她处以火刑。
在贞德幼年时，许多人因为战争而流离失所，没有面包，没有水，最终死在街道上。当时，贞德很同情苦难的人民，她几次试图拿面包来发放给受难的群众，但都被她的父亲制止了。父亲为此常严厉呵斥她，他总是大吼：“不要同情任何人！总有一天，你的同情会建立在你的生命之上！”

So I think confidence and will are just like the foundation of success. All the success depends on them.
In the real world, confidence and will is always very important. During the Athens Olympic Games, Li Ting and Sun Tiantian have won the gold medal for the women’s double in the tennis game. It was the first time our anthem playing on the tennis court. Some medium says that they have won by chance. It was only a fairy tale. But I don’t think so. Actually they have won because of their believing in themselves, because they have confidence and will, so they have created a fairy tale in Greece. Their confidence and will have made the success, not by accident.
In our daily life, we must have confidence and will as well. Before the test we need to be confident to our actual strength or we’ll not give full play to our initiative. We need to be confident when we are speaking in public or others will not remember you among all the speakers. We need to have will in studying or we’ll not learn things solidly. We need to have will in our daily life or we’ll give up the things we are doing now. If we have confidence and will in our daily life, then I believe you’ll live brighter.

贞德是一个平平常常的农家少女，整天牧羊，连最简单的字母都不认识。但是，国家的危急和各地人民保卫祖国的消息使这个偏远农村的小姑娘异常激动，她觉得自己有责任拯救多难的祖国。1429年初，贞德17岁时，英军围困了巴黎南面的奥尔良城。这是法国南北交通的战略重镇，一旦失守，南方就可能全部失陷。消息传来，贞德感到这正是自己为祖国献身的时刻。她一再请求父母和叔叔带她去见当地的法军队长。叔叔为她的热诚所感动，带她到了军官面前。
“你这个小姑娘，连怎样戴头盔都不知道，怎么能上战场呢?”军官问她。“我有决心和勇气，我能学会战斗。”贞德以坚定的口气回答。
“你一个人怎么和英国军队作战呢?”
“我有祖国和人民，还有国王。我要先解救奥尔良城，然后让国王正式加冕。”
贞德的话使军官大吃一惊。他派7名士兵陪她去见国王。国王查理七世被贞德坚不可摧的意志感动，同意让她带一支三四千人的军队去解救奥尔良城。
贞德的武器只有一把剑和一面旗帜。在战斗中，她总是高举旗帜，冲在队伍的最前面。她和她的旗帜在哪里出现，法国士兵就奋不顾身地跟上去。经过无数次战斗，贞德和她的部队来到了奥尔良城下。守城的法军却不肯开城迎接，他们不相信贞德这个女孩子能带兵打败英军，有人甚至认为她是妖怪巫女。贞德也不申辩，她巡视一周，看到城的另一边还有一座最坚固的英军堡垒，便指挥法军攻击敌堡。她首先跃过深壕，架起梯子爬上城堡，但摔了下来。不一会儿，她高举战旗又冲了上去。守城的官兵亲眼看到这一切，大为感动，立即开门出击。被英军围困长达209天的'奥尔良解围了。捷报传开，整个法国一片欢腾。
奥尔良战役的胜利，彻底扭转了法国在整个战争中的危难局面，战争从此朝着有利于法国的方向发展。接着，贞德又率军收复了许多北方领土，并在兰斯大教堂举行了查理七世的加冕礼。
但是，宫廷贵族和查理七世的将军们却不满意这位“平凡的农民丫头”影响的扩大，便蓄意谋害贞德。
1430年，在康边城附近的战斗中，当贞德及其部队被英军所逼、撤退回城时，这些封建主把她关在城外，最后以4万法郎将她卖给了英国人。贞德宁死不屈，她说：“为了法兰西，我视死如归!”1431年5月29日，贞德备受酷刑之后在卢昂城下被活活烧死，她的骨灰被投到塞纳河中。死时，贞德还不满20岁。
贞德之死激起了法国人民极大义愤和高度爱国热情。1436年法军攻取巴黎，1441年收复香槟，1450年夺回曼恩和诺曼底，1453年又收复基恩。1453年10月19日，英军在波尔多投降，战争至此结束。
拿破仑对贞德有着很高评价，贞德贞德认为是法国的救世主。贞德死后法国的民族主义高涨，出现了很多关于贞德的史料编写和研究，法国爱国主义运动以她的伟大形象进行宣传。并有大批作家和作曲家歌颂她，包括伏尔泰、席勒、威尔第、柴可夫斯基、马克·吐温、萧伯纳和布莱希特都创作了有关她的作品，而大量以她为题材的电影、戏剧、和音乐也一直持续发展直到今天。
War Horse was such a wonderful movie. This movie exceeded my expectations. It was moving, emotional, beautiful, and so heartwarming. Its sure to become a classic. You dont have to be a horse lover to love this movie.
There isnt a lot of blood, but you can still see the horrors of war and how intense it was for the soldiers and horses, as well as civilians. The Battle of the Somme scene was especially intense.
The acting was wonderful, the cinematography was beautiful, John Williams score was perfect, and the horses were so well trained! Spielberg has made a masterpiece!
This movie starts powerful, but unfortunately, as the plot develops, the anticipation decreases. At the end the viewer is bored with brainless action, that we have been seeing since the second Rambo movie (the first didnt have so much shooting).
The cast is good, Pitt and Jolie give life to their characters, but it takes much more than two good actors to create a good film. The final shooting scene kept me asking, is there a gunfight, or am I watching someone playing Half-Life 2 with god mode on? This movie lacks balance. The bad guys look pathetic, they look as if they havent held a gun before, much less used it. Its just the late Hollywood tendency, not to care about plausibility, but just brainless action, and the more, the better.
Bottom line : Mr. and Mrs. Smith is an entertaining movie. It has several ingenious moments, a good idea, great effects, nice camera-work, but come on, the bad guys are supposed to be pros :) . But dont expect to see something like “Face/Off”, simply because you wont.
This is an absolutely magnificent movie!I have seen hundreds of films and this movie is only the 6th that I have awarded a 10/10 to.
All this year,I had been anticipating the release of Snyders Man of Steel,with Pacific Rim coming in at a distant 2nd for my “Most Anticipated of ” list.Not only was this movie better than Man of Steel,but I am now prepared to say it is one of my favourite movies of all time!Not being impressed by Del Toros Hellboy,I was a bit anxious when he was directing a movie about giant robots fighting aliens,but my fears were aside with an impressive first trailer.

To prove him wrong she tries to get into Harvard Law School. She studies for the LSATs, submits a video essay--in which she appears in a sequined bikini--and, miraculously, is accepted.
At first, Elle is rebuked by Professor Stromwell and is the target of snide comments from other students.
