Now more and more people get to know it’s important to protect our living environment As a student, it’s my duty to do something for the earth. The world is not only hungry, but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earth's surface is covered with water. But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes, underground , and other sources. And we cannot
even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.
However, as things stand today, this small amount of fresh water, which is constantly being replaced by rainfall, is still enough for us. Did you know that to produce a single ton of steel, it takes about 91, 000 liters of water?
We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but only on a small scale. For us, the systems are as important as the spacecraft.

空气也是我们的生命之源，地球上几乎所有的生物都需要空气，清洁的空气有利于我们的健康，污染的空气中含有大量的有害物质，空气污染严重时，会危害人类健康和植物生长，在我们憋气的时候，我们会感到很难受；还有许多的事可以证明空气是生命之源，在高高的山上，我们可以看到一些登山运动员带着氧气罩，努力的向山顶爬去；还有，如果把我们种花瓶子里的空气抽掉，过了几天，瓶子里的花会枯萎，所以，通过上面所说的事例，我们可以证实：空气是生命之源。
美丽的森林，有着不少的美誉，有氧气制造厂、天然空调气、绿色蓄水库、空气净化器等――在车水马龙的公路上，汽车排放出的尾气会麻痹人的神经，造成体内缺痒，损伤大脑，导致记忆力衰退，甚至造成铅中毒。要让空气清新，我们必须节能减排，对于污染严重的工厂、汽车尾气，我们要不惜一切力量更新设备，杜绝污染；对于汽车尾气排放，我们要尽量使用公共交通，减少排放，这样我们才会有一个天空更蓝，阳光更灿烂，花更艳，草更绿，水更清的生活空间。
自从有了电以来，电已经成了我们生活中不可缺少的重要能源。有了它，我们可以使用电灯、洗衣机、电视、电脑、电冰箱等家用电器；有了它，城市的夜晚就会灯火通明，绚丽多彩；有了它，城市的交通变得井井有条，减少了交通事故的发生；有了它，工厂为我们造出各种各样的电器和漂亮的服装；有了它，我们可以从网上学到许多的知识和各种有用的信息……
不过，用于电的各种能源，如石油、煤炭等是有限的、不可再生的、终有一天会用完的，那我们的汽车就不能开，电灯就不会亮，电视没有声音与图像，电脑成了摆设，这多么可怕，简直就是“世界末日”了。虽然科学家不断研究地热、沼气、风能、太阳能、核能等，希望能取代石油，但是一直没有突破性的进展。因此，就必须提高能源的使用效率。
节约能源，必须从身边开始，从自己做起，主要方法有：
1、全部使用节水器具。水龙头，开关都使用好的，并且注意检查修理，严格防止跑冒滴漏浪费水。卫生器具全部用节水型的。
2、使用节能型电器。如电灯，我们可以淘汰白织灯，全部用节能灯。按照说明可以节约电70%以上。购买电器必须要看节能标志，不节能的不买，尤其象空调，冰箱，电热水器等用电大户。
3、不要频繁地开冰箱、电视、电脑。
4、将家庭用水中产生的中水集中起来二次使用，象拖地，冲厕所等用水可以使用洗菜，洗衣服的水来完成，这样能节约不少用水。
总之，在我们生活中，必须依靠能源。就让我们齐心协力，你节约一度电，我节约一滴水……这才是节约能源的最好办法。
随着经济的发展，能源已逐步涉及到了我们人类的衣、食、住、行，以及学习、工作、生产、文化等方面，我们几乎每时每刻都要接触它们，所以我们也要每时每刻抓住节约细节，来节约这些能源。
在日常生活中，我们应该节约用水。你在洗手、洗脸、擦肥皂的时候，请不要任清水长流，打开的水龙头每分钟要消耗11-19升水。因此我们必须要减少开水龙头的时间。在洗脸时要使用放到盆中的水，而不是任由水从水龙头中流出，这样也能节约不少升水。只要我们留心节约用水的每个小细节，那洗碗、洗衣、洗菜、洗澡想节水，乃是举手之劳。
除了水资源，我们生活中常接触的还有电。 节电既是节能又是减少空气污染，进进出出要随时关掉家中的灯和电器。不开长明灯，白天尽量利用自然光。当你在看电视时，记住关掉电脑或收音机，别让它们等在一旁耗电。有空别忘了清洁灯管或灯泡上的灰尘和电冰箱后面的散热器，这样能够减少能源的消耗。盛夏尽量少开空调，最好利用自然空气的流动来调节室温，长时间处于空调房对人体没有好处，很容易得“空调病”。其实防暑降温的方法有很多，比如用风扇代替空调，就能节约不少的电力。
能源带给了我们方便和财富，是我们走向小康生活的阶梯，让我们节约它们吧！珍惜它们吧！
最近这几年来地球上的能源越来越少，过度使用汽油严重的影响海岛、湿地以及沿海各大城市，就连我们居住的地方也无法倖免于灾，所以我们一定要好好保护地球，阻止地球继续暖化下去。
在这个人口众多的时代里，能源都快被我们用光了，有科学家预估在五年内在没有改善，未来很有可能会发生严重而不可收拾的后果。节约能源是一件很简单的事，只要从日常生活中开始做起，例如：乘坐大众运输工具可以减少二氧化碳的排放、使用不含磷的洗衣粉，还可以种植绿色植物吸收二氧化碳和美化社区，真是一举两得啊！为了以后的生活，举手之劳一起做环保是你我的责任。
我从报章杂志上得知发现的地表油气已越来越少了，为了获得更多的油气资源，石油地质学家必须要深入地下深处找寻油源，是一件艰辛万苦的工作。使用石油的优点是它经提炼加工后，可生产许多产品，例如：溶剂、油漆、沥青、塑胶、合成胶、纤维、肥皂、清洁剂、蜡、胶状物、药品、炸药以及肥料等都是由石油做成的。可是过度使用石油会排放污染大气层的有害物体，现在全国各地面临环境恶化的日增，政治上却仍没有任何因应对策。曾经有两家公司在俄国总理普丁见证下，于度假胜地素溪签订合约，双方将投资二十二亿美元，探勘北极圈喀拉海油田，这两家公司只为了石油资源的利益，却忘记现在要好好保护地球，呼吁人类应重视环境的生态危机，宣示和督促政府确实推动环保政策与落实环保工作。
地球只有一个，我们要好好的保护它，不要再任意浪费资源，让我们尽心尽力一起拯救地球而努力吧！
