dear lisa:

i'm sorry to take up your time, i'm wuna, from__ university of foreign studies, who had took part in the group assessment with the period of 8:50 on 14th november 15, __。maybe you can’t figure what i look like, i wonder if you have an impression that there was a candidate whose name card often dropped onto the floor, then i was just that candidate。

to begin with, please allow me to thank your company of giving me the opportunity for group assessment。 honestly speaking, this was the first group assessment in my life。 i’m very pleasured that i have the opportunity to experience the working place and atmosphere of dtt, the opportunity to make new friends with my 7 teammates, the opportunity to learn the importance of teamwork skills, the opportunity to review my weak points and strong points and enhance my understanding of teamwork , all of which i appreciate very much

meanwhile, would you mind that i make a suggestion here, from the moment i stuck the name card on my chest, it began to drop onto the floor, i wonder maybe i was too nervous that even this lovely name card could not stand it, when i got back to my dorm, i tested with other sticky things, it was found that my coat material refused to stick anything, so would you mind my suggestion to replace sticky name card with other ways in case for the 1% possibility of my case, for example, maybe we can use a name card displayed on the roundtable, and also it is more convenient for the teammates to know each other。 how do you think?

thanks again for the chance your company given me to participate this group assessment, which i will keep in my mind throughout my life。 i hope we can have an opportunity for further communications。

best wishes to you and deloitte sincerely

yours sincere

wuna

towards the end of your interview you should have asked the key question about what happens next. something like “how soon will you make a decision on whom you plan to hire?" this will have given you a time frame; you want to appear enthusiastic but not annoying. if they expect to make a decision within the next week, you need to follow up in a couple of days; for a longer time it is best to wait a week.

one thing you should do, immediately after the interview, is send a thank you email or letter. send it the same day or, at the latest, on the following day to the person or persons who interviewed you; remember to ask for businecards before you leave the interview. it is a good idea to do this even if the job doesn’t really interest you. in it you should show your appreciation for the employers’ interest in you and streyour interest in them.

remind them of your qualifications, mention anything important you might have forgotten in the interview and give them any follow up information they might have asked for. these thank you letters can be typed, handwritten or emailed. the most formal is a hard copy, typed letter and it will make you stand out among the other applicants; remember to use standard pa-pe-r with a matching envelope.if the employer is leformal a hand written note is more personal.

post it quickly or even have it hand delivered; faxing is another possibility but make sure you have your interviewer’s correct fax number. email is fine, especially if this is how you have been contacting up to now or you know a hard copy wouldn’t get to him or her in time. it is advisable to write the note in your word processor, where spell and grammar check will get rid of any typos. then copy and paste it to your email. whether you use regular mail, fax or email depends on which medium you feel is best for each interview situation. if you receive a job offer before you have had a chance to send a note; thank the employer for both the interview and the offer. you can also accept or decline the offer.

your follow up phone call depends on the time frame you deduced from your interview question. let’s say five days after the interview you decide to call. ask to speak with the person who interviewed you. you should be polite and professional, restate your interest in the position but don’t sound desperate! ask if they need any further information and if you are still under consideration. find out when you can expect a final decision.

it’s possible the company may have specifically asked you not to contact them but to wait for them to come back to you. in this case ask when you can expect to hear from them. if you have heard nothing, wait a couple of days and then call or email the interviewer. ask politely about the status of your job application.

Dear Mr. xxx,

Thank you so much for meeting with me yesterday at xxxxx. I really enjoyed discussing the mechanical engineering internship (#254987) posted for this coming summer and learning more about Allied Aircraft. I believe that my skills and abilities mesh well with the requirements for the position.

As I mentioned during the interview, I am currently a junior in the mechanical engineering program here at Penn State. Through my course work, I have gained experience in project management, teamwork, and leadership. Additionally, my previous work experience as a shift manager at McDonald’s has given me practical experience in utilizing problem-solving techniques and teambuilding skills―both important qualities as indicated in the description of the internship position at Allied Aircraft.

I want to reiterate my strong interest in the position. Please feel free to contact me at xxx-xxx-xxxXif I can provide you with any additional information.

Again, thank you for the opportunity to interview with you and for your consideration. Please extend my appreciation to the rest of the interview team as well.

Sincerely,

xxx

The post-interview thank-you letter is the last, crucial link in the chain.

If you follow the format below and follow up with EVERYONE you met during the job interview, your chances of getting that job will increase dramatically.

We estimate that only 5% of applicants ever send a thank-you letter.

That means this letter will put you ahead of about 95% of the competition for your next job.

What could be easier? And don be put off by the brevity of this thank-you letter. You need not write a long volume to thank people for their time.

Most employers will be shocked - and impressed - to receive any letter at all.

Dear ***:

I want you to know that I am extremely interested in the position of INSERT TITLE we discussed today. Based on the needs for INSERT JOB DESCRIPTION you outlined in our talk, I am sure that my skills in INSERT 2-3 SKILLS can help you in this area.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Please let me know if you require any additional information to make your decision. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
