Nowadays, when people talk about the principle, they are no longer showing respect, because many cases about the kids getting harassed by the principles were being exposed. Since then, the word “principle” is the speaking for monsters. Teenagers being harassed has become a hot issue, people call on the government to take some action to protect the teenagers. In my opinion, protecting the children are both parents and the society’s duty. Parents should teach their children to have the consciousness of security, like never getting alone with the strangers or the principles, when the principles ask the children to go to their home, children should reject. The society should supervise the principles, though they are in high position, what they do should be open to the public. Children are immature, they need the society’s protection, the harassing behavior shouldbe heavily punished by the law.
More and more high school students go to find part-time jobs to earn money to support themselves. People have different opinions about this phenomenon.
It has advantages as some people consider it can help students become independent and reduce the economic burdens on their parents. And it can improve their social communication skills. The students can practice what they learn at school in part-time jobs
But it still has some disadvantages, if a student spends too much time doing part-time job, he or she will certainly fail to concentrate on study. And sometimes their jobs have nothing to do with what they learn in school. Besides, their early contact with society adds greater worries to their parents.
In my mind, students at high school should focus on their study with all their hearts. Remember study is first and part-time jobs second.
Many people like traveling by plane, but I don’t like it because an airport is usually far from the city. I have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off and it is often late. During the flight, the window can’t be opened. Besides, the food on the plane is not good. Planes are fast, but they still take hours to go out of the airport and into the city.
I like traveling by train. I think trains are safe. Railway stations are usually in cities. If I am late for the train, I still could catch another one. I can walk around in the train and open the windows. I can see many interesting things on the way.
I also like cars. I can start your journey whenever I want to, and I don’t need to get to a railway station or bus stop. Also I can carry many things with in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the road.

Actually, a college degree is important evidence which can prove your ability. But people won’t judge you in one way, so you need to develop other aspects to make yourself more attractive.
As college students, they should improve themselves in many aspects like intelligence, emotional intelligence, social communication and physical strength. With the development of this society, companies also want to hire fewer employees to lower costs; people who can be almighty will be welcomed by most employers.
In order to adapt the reality, what college students can do are keeping learning and improving themselves, because they have to accept the challenge which comes from this cruel world and find bright futures.
I recall my study experiences. Sometimes I studied with my classmates, but sometimes I prefer to study alone. In my opinion, learning collaboratively can help us to improve our ability of communication. At the same time, it can give us a stage where we can exchange our thoughts with each other. In addition, through learning collaboratively we can get more chance to know our classmates. But there are some disadvantages. For example, during the time of study, we may not study but talk with our classmates.

I enjoy singing very much. While singing, my heart as well as my body is joyful. When I'm happy, I often sing out to share my happiness with others. I also sing out to pour out my bad feelings when I'm upset.

Read the text carefully, then decide if the following statements are true (T) or false (F).

1. Is the author of this passage male or female? How do you know ?
The author is male. Ahmed Aziz will not shake hands with women, but he shakes hands with the author.
2.What were the two mistakes that the author noticed?
He noticed that the Colombian man kissed the British woman, but in her culture, a kiss from a stranger is not acceptable. He also noticed that the Japanese man bowed just as the Canadian man started to shake hands, so one man’s nose touched the other man’s hand.
3. Who seemed to prefer to keep more physical distance from others? Who seemed to prefer closer physical distance ?
The British woman, Julia, and probably the Canadian man, George, seemed to prefer to keep more physical distance from others. The Colombian man, Tony, and the Jordanian man, Ahmed, seemed to prefer closer physical distance .
4. Did any students have similar greeting customs? If so, which ones?
Yes. Tony from Colombia and Darlene from France had a similar greeting custom-a kiss. George from Canada and Ahmed from Jordan also had a similar greeting custom-a handshake, but Ahmed shakes hands only with men.
5. “ When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” What do you think this famous saying means?
This saying means that when we are in a certain place, we should follow the customs of the people who live in that place, not our own customs.
6. Do you agree with the author’s statement that body language is not good or bad? Why or why not?
