This document is being submitted in support of my application for admission into your program.
Born in June _, I grew up in Lanzhou, a city that boasts of a history of thousands of years and a cultural heritage that is as colorful as it is old. Few cities, either in China or beyond, can match it in the richness of architectural styles. Stradding the upper Yellow River that sired the Chinese civilization, Lanzhou prides itself in both her past glory laden in the ancient structures on the north bank and her new found prosperity oozing out of the dazzling high-rises in the south. Although, as a child, I was not always able to articulate my admiration for such striking contrast, I constantly beheld the city's landscape in awe. I began to understand, at that young age, that architecture can be a powerful symbol of culture, a people and the spirit of an era.
My first intellectual mentor, one of my parents' best friends, was an artist seasoned in oil painting and photography. She often brought me with her when she traveled, and it was on these trips that her creative mind worked in full gear. I thus observed how human hands could work wonders by recreating the beauty of natural scenery in the form of sketches, paintings and photos. What was more important, I got to know that there are professions of creative work that calls for imagination and craftsmanship.
Fervent with creative art and fascinated with architectural design, I entered in 20_ into the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University, China's top engineering school, on the strength of my outstanding performance in the highly competitive National University Entrance Examinations.
At Tsinghua, I went through five years of vigorous training and thus acquired exquisite skills in drawing and design. Since I understood from early childhood that inspiration often comes from nature, I traveled far and wide throughout China's vast territory, setting my foot even in outlying Tibet and Xingjiang, both in the country's westernmost interior. These travels allowed me to trace modern China's culture to its different sources, and the variety not only deeply impressed me but also fired my imagination. In my graduation project, Cashi Contemporary Art Museum in Xinjiang, I successfully blended a natural environment into my artistic design by using a system of water circulation to support and sustain the building. As the most significant resource in an agricultural enclave surrounded by desert, water represents hope for both the people and their land. With the water circulation system, the building took on added vitality.
In mid-20_, I graduated with my B. S. and took a job as a designer with the Beijing-based “company.” My career as an architect thus took off.
Once I have settled into the real world of architectural design, I developed my career path quickly, playing substantial roles in a stream of projects. To date, my most significant responsibility has been to work as a main designer in (a key state) project, in which I led a group of my colleagues in meeting a daunting challenge. In addition to gaining a profound understanding of the technical difficulties necessarily attendant to such large-scale projects, I learned to work effectively within a team that also included my clients and colleagues. The teamwork thus not only strengthened my professional competence at conceptual and technical design but also honed my leadership skills that can be put to good use in other situations. As a result, I now feel even more confident of myself than I was before.
My experience in general, and the six years of frequent traveling in particular, has left an indelible mark on my intellectual development. As I can now readily appreciate a society's cultural, historical and socio-political impact on its architectural styles, I now try to reflect my own cultural and social background in my own designs. These days, I view architecture not just as a career but, more importantly, as an expression of my professional progress, and I fell that it is an view more compatible with Western rather than Chinese pedagogy. In any case, I have already been through China's best school for architectural studies, and I am convince that the further development of my professional qualifications requires more advanced training in a school like yours. I believe that advanced studies under your seasoned guidance will endow me with a broader vision and more profound insights, with which I can make still more contribution to my motherland China.
Yours sincerely,

Dear _,
Ever since childhood I have enjoyed working with my hands. Whether as an eight year- old gluing together a model car or an adolescent assembling a bookshelf in woodworking class, I thrived on the challenges of precise and meticulous tasks. Throughout high school I have been intrigued by the sciences, but it was not until I read about late-breaking discoveries and research in the field of genetics that my interests in science intensified. When I entered the University of British Columbia (UBC), I naturally chose to specialize in Cell Biology and Genetics.
In my sophomore year at UBC, I first began to seriously consider dentistry as a career. At that time, I began to appreciate the important role that dentistry played in my life. Four years earlier, I began an orthodontic treatment program with Dr. Junni Wang to correct a severe crowding problem with my teeth. Both before and during the treatment, I was a most reluctant participant; not many teenagers look forward to braces filling their mouth during their last two years of high school, and I was no different.
However, at every monthly check-up for three-and-a-half years the office staff had nothing but kind words of encouragement and optimism. Now after the completion of the treatment I had reason to smile. Dr. Wang helped turn me from a shy adolescent who feared smiling into a confident, outgoing young man. His skills not only brought back my smile, but also my sense of confidence in all aspects of my life. Whereas once I feared drawing attention to myself and thus shied away from leadership posts and debates, now I am a completely different person. Hoping to feel as satisfied and gratified as Dr. Wang must have felt in improving not only my smile but my entire way of life, I look forward to improving the oral health of patients on a daily basis and participating in dentistry’ s friendly, team-oriented work environment.
After this preliminary ‘ patient-doctor’ exposure to dentistry, I substantially increased my involvement in the field to determine if dentistry really was for me. My participation with the UBC Pre-Dental Society allowed me to communicate with various professionals in the field. I also investigated opportunities to volunteer in the University Dental Clinic or participate in research work. After speaking to a couple of professors in the UBC Faculty of Dentistry asking them about research opportunities, I found a topic that interested me. Dr. Putnins, of the Division of Periodontics, offered me a position in his lab to conduct a semi-quantitative analysis to determine the levels of endotoxin in dental unit water lines.
After taking many water samples from the University Dental Clinic and quantifying the amounts of endotoxin (lipopolysaccahride) in those samples with an Limulus Abeocyte Lysate test, I prepared to publish dentistry’ s first account of this type of experiment. I conducted the study over a 16-week span (Jan.-Apr.‘ 98), and the research work counted as 3.0 credits towards my undergraduate degree. Because the vast majority of my work was self-directed, I submitted my findings for evaluation by the faculty in a 32-page report with 46 references, and I also defended my methods before a panel of professors. Impressed by the findings and results, Dr. Putnins will use my study as a key component of a journal article he is currently preparing for the Journal of Dental Research (JDR). The school also submitted an abstract of my findings for presentation at the upcoming 77th General Session of the International Association of Dental Research (IDAR) to be held at Vancouver, Canada. I am keenly looking forward to this unique opportunity to have my work appear before distinguished members of the dental research community. My positive research experience definitely helped reinforce my goal of becoming a dentist.
In addition, my employment as a Canada Customs Inspector has helped me improve my level of social awareness and helped me develop qualities I can usefully apply to dentistry. As a Customs Inspector, I had the opportunity to communicate effectively with many different types of people in various situations. I have also developed the ability to resolve conflicts, defuse difficult situations, and show empathy even during cases of enforcement. In addition, my experience with team sports has provided me with leadership skills that can not be taught in any textbook. As the captain of my hockey team and the coach of a children’ s team, I have developed excellent communication skills and the ability to identify and work effectively with kids. All of these qualities will prove very important to my future career in dentistry.
Attracted by the dental profession’ s ability to positively impact people’ s lives, just like my orthodontist, and by the profession’ s financially rewarding and stable lifestyle, I look forward to one day opening my own practice and becoming a well-respected member of both the community of dentists and the community of patients. While my GPA may not be as high as some applicants’ , my academic record shows a consistent positive. I know I have the intelligence, ability, and determination to achieve success in dentistry; I only need the opportunity. My dental research experience combined with my academic background, personal qualities, and leadership abilities makes me well suited to accept the challenges in the field of dentistry. I look forward to an interview and the chance to discuss my qualifications in person.
Yours sincerely,

Dear xx,
To live a meaningful life everyday; to continually pursue my predeterminedworthwhile goals. -My view of life.
Could I put myself in the life-threatening working environment? Could Isacrifice my life for the benefits of others? Some people may laugh at my crazyquestion. To me, that is a serious question I have come a long way to find myanswer. “I am not sure whether it is worth to answer”; “What is the true meaningof that question?”
When I was a young child, I watched a soap opera that was about court. Iwas deeply impressed by the judge’s calmness and the lawyer’s eloquence andresource that were showed in this opera. From then on, I hoped to study law someday. Fortunately, I performed well in entrance examination and got enrolled intoxx University. Then I chose law as my major without hesitation. At university, Istudied hard and got GPA 3.4. What’s more, I broadly read all kinds of books, including philosophy, history etc. My teachers’ instruction strengthened myunderstanding of law and makes me understand the significance of law to acountry. From my studies, I had a lot of fun and got more interested in law. Moreover, I actively participated in practice in holidays from common company tolaw firm and tried to apply the theory I had learned into practice.
This summer, I had my internship in counselor department in xxx Group Co Ltdwhich was involved in a business contract dispute, which was submitted to ChinaInternational Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission for arbitration. As arepresentative of the requested applicant, I took part in the evidencecollection in the early arbitration stage and clearly explained why the 5%balance of goods was not paid on time. After knowing the whole case, I visitedmy teacher, an Arbitration Law professor, and listened to her opinions.Realizing the counterpart didn’t completely implement their contract duty, Igave reasons as follows: First, the counterpart company didn’t mention bearingissue, which caused that the delivered machines couldn’t be put into the plantbecause of the disqualification of workshop. Thus overhaul was necessary, whichdelayed production and resulted loss. Based on these reasons, the counterpartdidn’t completely carry out its duty, so our party did not pay the balance ontime. During this time, I found out the evidence and pictures that attestedcounterpart did not give reasonable suggestion and service, and made a statementin the court. Finally, the arbitration turned out that counterpart compensatedour loss, in which the arbiters invoked the reasons that I stated. They had apanel made up of 3 lawyers and 5 company representatives as agents while we justhad 3 persons—two lawyers and me. Under such condition, I was able to cooperatewith them and clearly stated my opinions without any nervousness, which gottheir respect. This matter greatly inspired my enthusiasm on study.
In addition, I took part in the contact draft in several companies. In theprocess, when I met a lot of problems, I often turned to my teachers for help, which made good impression on them. As I cherished each practice, I studied myspecialty and English hard. With effective study method and diligence, I didwell both in English and law, which helped me a lot to get scholarship everyyear. On the other hand, my practice inspired me to study. In practice, Iexercised my legal knowledge. I also realize the big gap between theory and itsapplication—sometimes I have master the rules but I didn’t know how to use it inactual case. My practice experiences have not only strengthened what I learnedbut have supplied new knowledge for me, which is good for my future study andcareer.
Yours sincerely,
xxx

1.学费(根据各个大学收费标准而定,一般按学期缴纳);
2.生活费(衣食住行);
3.预科费(若需要读预科);

Dear _,
With the approach of new century, the developing China is requiring better trained and more highly educated men and women than ever before in history. In order to make more contributions to the society and, at the same time, satisfy my keen interest in science, I am looking forward to beginning my graduate study. I heard of Case Western Reserve University as early as when I was an undergraduate student. She is one of the most highly regarded universities in the world and is an ideal place for ambitious youth.
I plan to study for Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University with special interests in metabolism, macromolecular synthesis, and protein crystal growth. I have had plentiful preparations. First, when being an undergraduate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University, I got very extensive and intensive education. I took many courses on chemistry and the related subjects, and earned high scores for most of them. Second, my major, Polymer, can be put into good use in Biochemistry programs because Polymer is closely related with biological Macromolecule. Third, I have working experience that enriches my theory and laboratory skills.
From 19_to now, I have been engaged as an Assistant Engineer by the Research institute, Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Corporation (RIBYPC). In the first year, I was in charge of a 5-litre reactor for polymerization of Carboxylated Butadiene-Styene Latex. Then I was transferred to another research group to synthesize PET/PHB copolymer, a kin of polyester, which has the property of Liquid Crystal. I am the assistant head of the group. We can prepare the novel polymer with high molecule weight and excellent property in a 2-litre stainless steel reactor. During this monomers, with purity of more than 99.99%; this made my leader very satisfied.
More than four years of working experiences expand my capacity. I often make use of NMR, X-ray, DSC and other instrumental methods for research. Among them, I am most skilled in NMR reactors, I have experiences on solving problems of Engineering and Mechanics. What is more, I am familiar with computer operation and some application software. The above information about my specialty may be helpful for you to evaluate me.
It is said that the 21st century will be the age of Life Science. I hope to enter the esteemed Case Western Reserve University to face this challenge. I am confident tat I shall be an excellent fellow. After completing my graduate study, I would like to return to my homeland and make use of my knowledge to serve the people.
By the way, I would like to give thanks to my parents. Being their oldest son, I am offered the most formal education and the deepest love. I never forget the 18-year’s life with them. Twelve years in the countryside and six years in Shengli Oil Field bestowed me the character of diligence, resolution, and perseverance, as well as the deep love of nature and life. I am also indebted to my dear wife. Without her never-ended encouragement and support in these years, I could not become closer and closer to the gate of the eminent Case Western Reserve University.
Yours sincerely,

(1)泰语课程类:属于必修课(每周两节);
(2)外语课程类:和国内不同的是,泰国这门课程有英、法、德、日、阿拉伯语等多种语言,但是选择上还是有限制的,每人最多可选两种;
(3)社会教育课程类:属于选修课程。这门课程包含了地理、历史、政治、道德、社会学、经济学、法学、人口学和环境保护等,类别非常的丰富多样;
(4)卫生体育课程类:这门课既有必修课也有选修课;
(5)数学课程类:分为数学和应用数学;
(6)自然科学课程类:包含了物理、生物、化学、应用科学等这类课程;
(7)应用科学课程类:包含了工业技术、农业、家政学、手工艺学等;
(8)艺术课程类:有绘画、泰国艺术、装饰艺术、泰国歌曲、音乐、时代音乐及陶器、戏剧表演;
(9)基础职业技术类:有工业技术、农业、家政、商业、手工业和艺术等;
(1)去泰国学生的选择非常的多样,而且所学知识非常的丰富,可以增强学生全方位的知识,使学生涉及的知识面非常广;
(2)和国内不同的是,泰国的中学设立了选修课,并且实行学分制,不仅加强了对学生的管理,也增加了学生的知识面,让学生可以根据自己的兴趣爱好来选择自己喜欢的课程;
(3)课程设置多样化,并且非常灵活,站在学生的立场、兼顾学生的多样性发展需要;
泰式面条有几种面条可选,细粉、宽粉、粉丝、黄面条、黄色水饺等;
汤料口味有清汤,黑汤和冬阴功味儿三种;

Dear _,
To live a meaningful life everyday; to continually pursue my predetermined worthwhile goals. -My view of life.
Could I put myself in the life-threatening working environment? Could I sacrifice my life for the benefits of others? Some people may laugh at my crazy question. To me, that is a serious question I have come a long way to find my answer. “I am not sure whether it is worth to answer”; “What is the true meaning of that question?”
When I was a young child, I watched a soap opera that was about court. I was deeply impressed by the judge’s calmness and the lawyer’s eloquence and resource that were showed in this opera. From then on, I hoped to study law some day. Fortunately, I performed well in entrance examination and got enrolled into _ University. Then I chose law as my major without hesitation. At university, I studied hard and got GPA 3.4. What’s more, I broadly read all kinds of books, including philosophy, history etc. My teachers’ instruction strengthened my understanding of law and makes me understand the significance of law to a country. From my studies, I had a lot of fun and got more interested in law. Moreover, I actively participated in practice in holidays from common company to law firm and tried to apply the theory I had learned into practice.
This summer, I had my internship in counselor department in _x Group Co Ltd which was involved in a business contract dispute, which was submitted to China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission for arbitration. As a representative of the requested applicant, I took part in the evidence collection in the early arbitration stage and clearly explained why the 5% balance of goods was not paid on time. After knowing the whole case, I visited my teacher, an Arbitration Law professor, and listened to her opinions. Realizing the counterpart didn’t completely implement their contract duty, I gave reasons as follows: First, the counterpart company didn’t mention bearing issue, which caused that the delivered machines couldn’t be put into the plant because of the disqualification of workshop. Thus overhaul was necessary, which delayed production and resulted loss. Based on these reasons, the counterpart didn’t completely carry out its duty, so our party did not pay the balance on time. During this time, I found out the evidence and pictures that attested counterpart did not give reasonable suggestion and service, and made a statement in the court. Finally, the arbitration turned out that counterpart compensated our loss, in which the arbiters invoked the reasons that I stated. They had a panel made up of 3 lawyers and 5 company representatives as agents while we just had 3 persons—two lawyers and me. Under such condition, I was able to cooperate with them and clearly stated my opinions without any nervousness, which got their respect. This matter greatly inspired my enthusiasm on study.
In addition, I took part in the contact draft in several companies. In the process, when I met a lot of problems, I often turned to my teachers for help, which made good impression on them. As I cherished each practice, I studied my specialty and English hard. With effective study method and diligence, I did well both in English and law, which helped me a lot to get scholarship every year. On the other hand, my practice inspired me to study. In practice, I exercised my legal knowledge. I also realize the big gap between theory and its application—sometimes I have master the rules but I didn’t know how to use it in actual case. My practice experiences have not only strengthened what I learned but have supplied new knowledge for me, which is good for my future study and career.
Yours sincerely,

Dear _,
Hello! My name is Zhang Lei and I come from Dingshu High School in Yixing, Jiangsu Province (provincial four-star key high school). You may take time out of your busy schedule to read my self-recommendation letter. I am grateful and lucky.
Central South University is an advanced institution with beautiful scenery, and it is also an institution of higher learning with abundant talents. I am fascinated by her splendid and magnificent surface, and admire her rich connotation and deep cultural heritage-I, looking forward to becoming a member of your school. I am eager to walk on the path of Central South University next year and indulge in the strong scholarly fragrance in the air.
I grew up in Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu, which is a famous historical and civilized town in Jiangsu, China's pottery capital, home of purple clay pot, home of teaching, and home of calligraphy and painting. It has a long cultural heritage and a strong style of writing. Upholding the search for culture, I learned Go and fell in love with him deeply. In a world with obvious black and white, there is an ancient dialectical and mellow thinking scheme, a mental grind that commands a decisive victory over a thousand miles, and a test of winning or losing that is one-off and all losers. The joyfulness and verticality on the chessboard are the events that have the greatest impact on me. The kind of immersion in it, luck in it, meticulous planning, and thorough questioning describe my career and learning in depth.
The flowers are arranged in clusters, just wait for the first thunder. Under the shaping of the Go culture, I tried my best to dominate the “colorful red”, just to wait for the first thunder that belongs to me in the independent enrollment. Or the thunder at the time of birth gave me a good voice and a good quality of being calm and calm. I love broadcasting and hosting, and I love to use my voice to string together outstanding programs. Three years in junior high school and three years in high school. I, as the host, witnessed the brilliance and youth on the stage in almost every school art performance. The prince of broadcasting is always my campus name.
Love Go, love broadcasting, in fact I also love to learn. Since entering this four-star high school, I have been ranked in the top three in every test, especially my science subject, which has been praised by teachers and classmates. Of course, they praised me not only because of my good achievements, but also because I will share my learning methods and victory lessons with everyone, so that every classmate around me can take every step of their learning well. When it’s critical, we can laugh together! However, in my learning game, the English corner is not very strong, but fortunately, I have worked hard to build momentum, and the results are first obvious.
I have a soft spot for the metallurgical major of your school. I am looking forward to entering your school and playing the chess of my life on a larger board in my favorite major. In short, study exhaustively, both offensive and defensive; in life, use black and white as the background to portray a wonderful picture; in development, carefully layout, focus on the long-term, and use professionalism to break aspirations and serve the country.
I hope to hear the good news in the coming year, and hope that the autumn will be like Zhongnan. I have the arrogance to answer the strict screening of your school.
Respectfully, I wish the teacher a smooth life, and I wish your school a smooth year!
Yours sincerely,
xuexila

Dear _,
My most important aim for the next few years is to further my studies of History. Studying the subject at GCSE and A Level has extended my interest in Social and European History, and how this relates to world History. The subject has enhanced my understanding and interest of current affairs and contemporary issues, which I enjoy following closely. As a student of History, I aim to extend my analytical and presentational skills. Once given an area to study, I like to research independently, but also working with others. My time at Sixth Form College has enabled me to improve my reliability, punctuality and ability to work individually, while coping with the demands of exams and deadlines. The AS levels I selected; English, Geography, History and Politics complemented each other well, enabling me to use the knowledge of one subject to develop my understanding of another. They have also extended my abilities in research, essay and report writing. My AS results proved pleasing, after analysing my results, they have given me realistic targets for the year ahead. I have evaluated my progress of my first year in order to find weaknesses in exam and study technique and I am working on these for a hopefully successful outcome for the years ahead.
In addition to my academic studies, I have achieved qualifications in first aid, and I feel confident to administer first aid in unlikely situations. Over the past two years, I have helped with a youth holiday scheme connected with my Church where I had responsibility for looking after and helping children. In my spare time, I enjoy reading non-fiction books, and travelling to see many parts of the country. My Duke of Edinburgh award scheme enabled me to deal effectively with decision making within a group.
Out of College, a part-time job at a newsagent, over the past two years has given me responsibilities such as dealing with customers, stock and large amounts of money, and also being organised and punctual. At my secondary school, I helped to set up a student council, as I felt that there were student issues that needed to be dealt with. Other responsible positions I have held are both prefect, and fifth year representative at my previous school, and form representative on the student council at my present college. Work experience at an Estate Agent in Cambridge gave me good experience of working in a city and commuting, and also insight into an area of business. I hope to travel and work at an orphanage near to Jakarta, which I have maintained links with, and also to New Zealand. My career prospects are left open for now, but I do have interests in research and education.
My main priority for now is to complete my A Levels to the best of my ability and to go on to University, not just for the degree but for the entire experience it has to offer and I look forward to moving on, learning and meeting new people.

Dear _,
“One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar” I must say that I am genuinely grateful to Helen Keller for articulating what I have long cherished in the innermost recesses of my mind. At the same time I also congratulate myself on having chosen flying as my one-time career, for it has imparted to me both the impulse and the desire to soar in my life.
Ten years ago when I was an undergraduate from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Tsinghua University, or even 5 years ago when I just entered the China Civil Aviation Flight University, I had the stubborn notion that, for the rest of my life, I would stay on the ground working either as a mechanist engaged in mechanical designing and the technical improvement of materials. It never dawned on me that I would transcend all the matter-of-course outcomes resulting from my five-year undergraduate studies to become a pilot of international flights, for at that time the idea had never occurred to me that a person could fly so freely in the infinite universe of his life.
In 1990, I sailed through the highly competitive National University Entrance Examination to become an undergraduate in Tsinghua University. Out of my instinctive interest, I chose to study in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. My 5-year solid studies at this most prestigious university in China allowed me to establish a profound theoretical groundwork in mechanical engineering and to develop an in-depth understanding of mechanical dynamics and its operation principle. During my graduation internship, I discovered that, because of the airborne sand, the cylinder piston ring of the desert vehicle which did not receive alloy surface treatment frequently incur friction damage and breaking. This not only created great hindrance to the normal operation of desert vehicles but also seriously jeopardized the life and security of personnel doing field work in the desert. Driven by my sense of responsibility, I chose The Surface Alloy Treatment of the Cylinder Piston Ring of Desert Vehicles by Laser, a highly difficult technical subject which constituted part of a research program of the National 9th Five-Year Plan, as the topic of my graduation design. I was responsible for organizing a research team to conduct designing, processing and analyzing involved in the investigation. In order to arrive at the perfect ratio of different substances to be contained in the alloy, I undertook innumerable experiments which were coupled with innumerable failures. Sometimes I would stay in the laboratory for days without knowing the lapse of time. During this difficult but equally exciting period, it was Edison's motto Success Means Standing up Once More After Failure that sustained me. With due efforts, we concluded the research satisfactorily, not only scoring significant technological breakthroughs but also yielding impressive practical profitability.
After graduating as an undergraduate from Tsinghua University in 1995, at the strong recommendation of the University, I took part in a screening test administered by Air China for the recruitment of civil aviation pilots. With my impressive personal performance, I distinguished myself from the a total of 20,000 participants as a qualified candidate and entered China Civil Aviation Flight University in Sichun Province where I studied aviation theories and techniques, aerodynamics, meteorology and other relevant knowledge. In the first year of my studies at this university, I received the honor of Model Student. On account of my prominent performance in my studies and flying practice, together with my strong adaptability, especially with my impressive organizational and communicational capacity, I was dispatched by Air China in July to the Flight Safety Academy located in Florida of the United States to undergo a one-year specialized training in order to develop myself into an outstanding pilot on international flights.
During my studies at Flight Safety Academy, I was confronted with even greater challenges. I made utmost efforts to perfect my English aptitude within the shortest possible time. I continued to study advanced courses in flight principles, aerodynamics, federal regulations and a series of subjects directly or indirectly related to flying. At the same time, I was subjected to the most rigorous flight training. I did not shrink from any of those challenges. Instead, I surmounted them one by one, supported by the powerful spirit of perseverance and confidence cultivated in me in my early childhood. At the end of this one-year training, I received the Certificate for Flying Commercial Multi-Engineer Aircrafts issued by the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States. Hard as it was, the one-year experience in the United States not only enabled me to acquire the necessary qualifications as a pilot of international flights, but also helped me to develop some initial understanding of the American society. In July , I returned to Air China and formally became its qualified pilot on international flights.
As a pilot, one must be in possession of a strong sense of responsibility and the spirit of teamwork. This requires that a pilot must be meticulous in every detail, able to deal with emergencies, and effective in interpersonal communication. Before each routine flight, I would make detailed flight plans, conduct careful analysis of the conditions of the airfields that we would land on, familiarize myself with the air routes and the weather conditions. I pay special attention to enhance my ability in analyzing and handling emergency situations. On those occasions when the flight is delayed due to irresistible factors, my patient explanations to the passengers tend to make them satisfied and their excited emotions would naturally calm down, facilitating the smooth settlement of the problems. In recognition of my prominent achievements, my company conferred on me the Model Pilot Award. All those gradually cultivated qualities serve as my strong assets for commencing new stages of my career.
Over the past four years, I have traveled to virtually all the major countries of the world and I have accumulated a 3000-hour record of safe flight. After arriving at each destination, I can enjoy a brief vacation of 3 to 4 days in the local city. I would invariably take advantage of such occasions to make extensive visits to the local society, coming into close contacts with local traditions and customs. Those experiences have not only significantly broadened my cultural perspective and enriched my mind, but also developed my ability to accommodate myself to different cultural backgrounds. Exposure to new ideas, a cosmopolitan awareness, and increased receptivity are the greatest benefits that I have been able to derive from those experiences.
My pleasant work experiences make me increasingly interested in my career as a pilot. But at the same time I have also come to develop a strong concern for the existing condition of China's civil aviation industry. Because of its lack of fund and backward technology, plus its belated development, China's civil aviation industry currently lags far behind the developed countries, particularly in the field of aerospace engineering. Once again, motivated by my sense of responsibility to help develop China's civil aviation industry, I am determined to relinquish my present career and apply to study Aerospace Engineering at your distinguished university, to embark on a new stage of life. Technically, I have established a solid foundation for apply for an advanced degree program in aerospace engineering because of my undergraduate training in mechanical engineering. My actual experience as a pilot further contributes to my readiness to combine theoretical knowledge with practical expertise. The most essential point is that, psychologically, my extraordinary sense of responsibility for the safety of passengers has cultivated in me the spirit for pursuing perfection. Such an awareness and spirit will undoubtedly ensure the maximum success in my prospective degree program as in my heretofore career as a pilot.
Admittedly, to relinquish my present career means to give up many advantages: a relatively high salary, a comfortable life, and a respected social status. But I should say that flying constitutes for me not only a form of career and a form of working experience. It has also ignited my passion for the future, for it enabled me to understand the true significance of horizon, that, as a matter of fact, the horizon of life is akin to the horizon of the sky in which I fly in that they both promises infinite possibilities. It made me further realize that an individual's universe is as infinite as his heart is ambitious. In order to pursue a more exciting future of personal development, it is often necessary to transcend the mere past. The present decision that I make is by no means a form of relinquishment, but a form of pursuit, seeking to transcend the status quo and to strive for excellence, to fly to even higher destinies.
I could never understand why “To be or not to be / That is the question” can become such a celebrated soliloquy and why the protagonist Hamlet, the prince of hesitation and indecision, could become such a worshipped hero. For me, who is well equipped with all my previous qualifications and at the same time confident about the future, I would say : To Soar or to Creep / That is no Question!
Yours sincerely,

Dear xx,
My most important aim for the next few years is to further my studies ofHistory. Studying the subject at GCSE and A Level has extended my interest inSocial and European History, and how this relates to world History. As a student of History, I aim toextend my analytical and presentational skills. Once given an area to study, Ilike to research independently, but also working with others. Dear _,
I intend to continue the study of History at university. As a subject I have been interested in since childhood, I enjoy studying the past and how it has shaped our future. The study of History allows us to view the mistakes and successes of the past and employ them to the future. a??History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are. (McCullough) History allows society to form an identity and to advance through learned tolerance and understanding.Last year in AS History I studied he unification of Italy which was key in my understanding of history. It was fascinating to explore how Italy came together as one country from several states and to discuss whether Italy would have formed alone or whether in required to push from those such as Garibaldi or Cavour.
Having spent many years studying modern history and decided to take it upon myself to expand my knowledge into ancient history. Earlier this year I read a book called Cleopatra by Lucy Hughes- Hallet. It was interesting to read about such a famous and influential woman of history from another womans perspective. Often Cleopatra is portrayed as femme fatale- as in the portrait by John William Waterhouse or Shakespeare who said a??other women cloy the appetites they feed: but she makes hungry, where most she satisfies.
She is often seen by historians as a seductive, potentially poisonous temptress, however this is not necessarily how Hughes-Hallet interprets her; to her she is plainer, more ambitious and less cruel. I think it is difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to ancient history and especially in this case someone as constantly redesigned as Cleopatra.
History has taught me to make substantiated judgments and to interpret and analyse external material as well as my own opinions. I find History intriguing because it gives me the opportunity to study the development of human society over a long-term. My inquisitive mind has further contributed to my enthusiasm for the subject and I enjoy working independently. But all three of my subjects have honed my writing skills, to be able to select and organise knowledge and communicate it coherently and concisely. More specifically, Sociology has been helpful in discerning social trends, and understanding something of the human psyche; and English Literature allows me to study works, in context. All these skills will enable me to read History at university.
I enjoy visiting museums and monuments of history when I have the opportunity. I particularly love the trench experience at the Imperial War Museum and more ancient history- such as the ancient human occupation of Britain - at the National History Museum.
I work well within a team, but also have the necessary attributes to lead if I am called upon, demonstrated in my active participation in my school's Charities Committee for the past six years, organising various charity events throughout the school. My work as secretary of the Charities Committee allows me to represent the school in the community and has taught me management and organisation skills. In school I have also been a keen participant in the orchestra in which I am lead violinist in school and also play for the borough. I have been involved in several school plays either back stage, in the orchestra or as part of the cast. I have also been involved in numerous school sports teams, including the netball and athletics teams. I am a naturally cheerful person who has a positive outlook on life, but with the maturity necessary for university, and as such, I feel that I am fully prepared for the academic step up to degree level. I greatly anticipating the opportunity not only to go to university, but specifically to read History as I know it will provide me with vital life skills, as well as giving me access to a potentially wide and varied career within the specialty.
Yours sincerely,

Dear _,
Hello!
My name is Xu, Male, a graduate of Yucai primary school. When the tense entrance examination is coming, I am not only proud of being a mature junior high school student, but also worried about whether I can enter an excellent junior high school. I've heard that your school has a rigorous style of teaching, excellent style of study, outstanding achievements and tradition. It is the cradle of tomorrow's talents and the fertile ground for cultivating the pillars of our country. I highly appreciate the mission of your school: caring for students today and tomorrow. Your school regards the growth of students as its own responsibility. Based on today, it pays attention to the long term, runs a school steadfastly, and has a long-term vision. Over the years, your school is famous and admired by many students. So now I am doing my best in my study. I hope that I can return my achievements to my teachers and parents. At the same time, I can also strive for the opportunity to enter your school.
I was born in 20_ On June 1, 2005, he was lively and lovely since childhood. Although my family lives in the suburban development zone, I was raised with great expectations by my parents and was sent to the urban school, receiving a good education. My parents pick me up to school every day. Seeing their hard work, I especially cherish this learning opportunity. Since the first grade of primary school, I have studied steadfastly and diligently. I listen attentively in class, finish my homework conscientiously after class, write conscientiously, read extensively, actively participate in various activities, actively develop interests and hobbies, and have won many honors. I have been rated as “three good students”, “sunshine civilization youth”, “star of English”, “striving for advanced activists”, “little master of sports”, “master of science and technology” Civilized youth... Also won the second prize for book editor and racing car design and production. I was selected into the school basketball team. The school basketball court used to be the place where I galloped my youth and sweat. My favorite course is science. Every time I do experiments, I always feel energetic and excited. I always remember the process and conclusion of the experiment very well. I have many advantages and disadvantages. Because of carelessness, my academic performance will always fluctuate up and down, often solve the problem, but failed in a simple calculation. I also use mental arithmetic for three digit multiplication, which makes my mother frown: “should I praise your mental arithmetic ability? Or should you lose your unreliable algorithm“ The teacher in charge of the class also said to me with great care: ”the graduation examination for junior high school students can't be missed. This time, you should be careful“ I decided to study hard, because after all, growing up, mature, should not always fall in such a small mistake
Dear teachers, respected leaders, I will study harder in junior high school, add points to my life, add color to my life, learn for myself, also learn for the motherland, equip myself, contribute to society, and be a useful person. If all conditions meet, please seriously consider my application for studying abroad, thank you!
Yours sincerely,
