本次四级考试难度不是太难,属于正常难度。且跟以往相比趣味性有所加强,我们从中可以获得一个信息:“let’s have fun in learning english.”。只是作文的格式学生比较陌生,但是六级曾经考过类似类型和出现类似提纲。

听力部分:语音清晰,语速正常。十个对话所涉及的内容和场景以往考试中都有覆盖。只是在细节上有所翻新,每个小题都增加一点灵活性,也就是说,大多题目都涉及隐含和推理,考生不能仅仅根据字面意思答题。三篇短文中的第一篇属于植物类科普文章,内容涉及一种野草以及它的生活习性;第二篇文章属于人文类,讲述大学的由来和发展;第三篇文章属于社会类,讲了一个国际公益组织的理念。题目中主旨题比以往有所增加,还是符合考纲要求。

阅读理解部分:四篇阅读理解文章长度非常典型,题目设置比较规范,细节题还是居多,考生通过定位可作对大部分题目。第一篇阅读提供个人简历写作的注意建议,其中涉及到文化因素,属于认为教育类题材;第二篇文章描述女子教育的意义和好处,属于社会人文类;第三篇是新闻科技类,讲述汽车防盗;第四篇探讨了晚育的问题。没有特别难的题目。

词汇部分:词汇题难度适中,主要考察名词、动词、形容词三大词形,考察短语类共有4题。比较难的题目有56题、58题(四个名词看似很简单,但实际上不易区别)、59题、64题等。

作文部分:作文写一篇题为volunteers needed(招募自愿者)的应用文。三个纲要中第二纲要属重点,学生比较不适应的是作文的格式以及第一和第三纲要中所需的句式,对他们来讲比较陌生。

听力部分:语音清晰,语速稍快。十个对话所涉及的内容和场景属常规,非常注重细节,大多题目都涉及隐含和推理,考生不能仅仅根据字面意思答题。其中第6题、第10题比较难。三篇短文中的第一篇讲述一个女孩的事业选择,第二篇文章讲述获得诺贝尔文学的女教师的成长经历。前两篇文章都具有一定的励志意义;第三篇文章讲述动物界求生的手段:一个是警告色,另一个是群居。

阅读理解部分:四篇阅读理解文章长度正常,题目设置比较规范,题材以社会生活类为主,贴近美国生活。第一篇阅读是关于社会问题的文章,作者对电视媒体是社会暴力罪魁祸首的主张提出质疑,作者认为在证明电视节目与社会暴力之间存在必然因果关系之前,必须要查清因果关系,并且要进行大量的研究;第二篇讲述面对国内市场虚高的药品价格,美国人该采取怎样的对策;第三篇是关于美国社会老龄化问题,作者认为美国社会为老龄人群提供的许多优惠和福利事实上并不科学;第四篇讲述美国黑人争取现实生活中平等公民权的斗争,虽取得一些成就,但依然任重而道远。稍难的题目有第24题、第27题、29题、第38题。

词汇部分:词汇题难度适中,再一次体现了六级考试的特点:考词重复率高。考生只要把历年真题中的题作熟就可以拿到相当的分数,主要考察名词、动词、形容词三大词形,稍稍出了以外的是居然一道词组题都没有。稍难的题目有47题、48题、64题等。

改错部分:难度一般,上过辅导班或对改错规律比较熟悉的考生,拿到大部分分并不是一件难事。错误设置相当典型,如:第1题、第4题(并列词的词性的一致性)、第6题(现在分词和过去分词误用)、第9题(副词修饰形容词)、第10题(反义),第3题、第7题属于常用搭配有误。

作文部分:作文写一篇题为“国外旅游”的图表作文。应该说图表作文对于考生来说并不陌生,而且具有一定的模式化。学生对第一纲要和第二纲要所需的句式还是有相当的储备的,个人认为这次六级的作文比四级作文容易。

2月25日,教育部召开了大学英语四、六级考试改革新闻发布会。此举引起了各界极大关注,恩波名师谢忠明就大家关注的一些热点问题作了一些深入的探讨。现将探讨内容拿出来与大家共享,希望对广大学生今后关于英语学习和四六级考试有一定的指导意义。

1、四六级考试为何要进行改革?

大家知道,12月下旬在杭州举行的高等学校外语教学指导委员会英语组扩大会审定通过了《大学英语教学大纲(修订本)》,而教育部办公厅于1月2日又下发了教育部高等教育司《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》。对照这两份纲领性文件,我们可以发现这次改革的一些原因。可以说这次改革应该势在必行。

2、这两份纲领性文件有什么变化?

首先就教学目的而言《大学英语教学大纲(修订本)》规定要“培养学生具有较强的阅读能力和一定的'听、说、写、译能力。使他们能用英语交流信息”。

而《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》所设定的教学目标为“培养学生的英语综合应能力,特别是听说能力,用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流”。

另外,原《大学英语教学大纲(修订本)》中的“教学要求”分基础阶段(基础要求1~4级,较高要求5~6级)、应用提高阶段(专业英语、高级英语)在《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》被简化为三个层次,即一般要求、较高要求和更高要求,每个层次中对听、说、读、写、译等方面的能力均做出了明确的定量,定性描述,并推荐了相应的词汇量,分别为4500,5500,6500。

由此可以看出,新的大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》突出了听说能力的培养。

3、这些变化又是如何体现在考试的改革中?

教学评估,也就是测试,是大学英语课程的一个重要环节,是贯彻执行教学要求的重要保证。在《大学英语教学大纲(修订本)》中,规定“着重考核语言基础和语言应用能力”,采用一定量的主观试题;而《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》则将评估分成形成性评估和终结性评估两种,并强调要以评价学生的英语综合应用能力为主。不应该用学生所获得的读、写、译考试成绩代替或平衡听说成绩;考试的形式可以多样化,但都是要充分考核学生实际应用语言进行交际的能力,尤其是口头和书面的表达能力。

综合上述的分析,不难看出,此次《全国大学四六级考试改革方案》是完全依据《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》而制定的。“综合应用能力,尤其听说能力”成为改革的重中之重,听力分值的增加由20%~35%,并设置长对话,短文理解和听写同考,也就在情理之中。

4、这次的《全国大学四六级考试改革方案》有什么具体的变化?

为了让学生对《改革》方案更加明白,我要强调下面几点:

a) 从题量上来说,主观题比重有所加大,由原来的25%增加成35%到45%之间。

b) 就具体题型而言,听力20%增加到35%,包括长对话、短对话、听写、短文理解,实际上是只增加了长对话一项。

阅读40%下降到35%,但是分成了两块,close reading占25%,增加的fast reading占10%,估计在4篇,但都是比较短小(英专四级有这一题型8篇10个问题,每篇文章7~9行,要求在5分钟内答完10道题)。

综合运用占15%,cloze/error10%;SAQ或Translation占5%。

作文不变,还是写说明文、议论文和应用文。分值依旧占15%。

单项词汇测试取消了。虽然令人费解,但从考研的试卷来看也是可取的。

说白了,和原来考试相比,这次增加了听力长对话,阅读的fast reading,其他部分全是已经考过的题型。

原先考试的大纲“阅读为主”,已改为“听说为主,阅读并重,全面提高综合运用能力”。实际上,由于考虑到成本以听说为主,就是考听力为主,要体现说的能力,就目前考试而言,只能体现在长对话和作文上。

5、就即将到来的6月份考试来说上面这些都意味着什么?

05年6月四级新题型考试只在180所学校试行,集中在北京(24所)、江苏(12所)、上海、广州、山东、杭州、西安、武汉等外语教学水平相对较高且使用新教材的城市学校。

nuclear power’s danger to health, safety, and even life itself can be summed up in one word: radiation.

nuclear radiation has a certain mystery about it, party because it cannot be detected by human senses. it can’t be seen or heard, or touched or tasted, even tough it may be all around us. there are other things like that. for example, radio waves are all around us but we can’t detect them, sense them, without a radio receiver. similarly, we can’t sense radioactivity without a radiation detector. but unlike common radio waves, nuclear radiation is not harmless to human beings and other living things.

at very high levels, radiation can kill an animal or human being outright(全部地)by killing masses of cells in vital organs. but even the lowest level of radiation can do serious damage. there is no level of radiation that is completely safe. if the radiation does not hit anything important, the damage may not be significant. this is the case when only a few cells are hit, and if they are killed outright, your body will replace the dead cells with healthy ones. but if the few cells are only damaged, and if they reproduce themselves, you may be in trouble. they reproduce themselves in a deformed way. they can grow into cancer. sometimes this does not show up for many years.

this is another reason for some of the mystery about nuclear radiation. serious damage can be done without the victim being aware at the time that damage has occurred. a person can be irradiated and feel fine, then die of cancer five, ten, or twenty years later as a result. or a child can be born weak or liable to serious illness as result of radiation absorbed by its grandparents.
