How to Cope With Stress in College
Do you have difficulty in breathingDo you usually lose your sleepDo you feel irritable recentlyAnd whether you have a headache and cold palms or notIf so, it proves that you are stressful recently, therefore you should know how to relieve stress. Today, my topic is how to cope with stress in college.
College life can be very stressful. Although stress is a normal sense for everyone, it’s difficult to make a balance between the two extremes. First of all, we should figure out the sources of stress. The competition for grades, the need to perform, interpersonal relationship, career choice and many other aspects of the college environment cause stress. These factors are connected with our family, peers and society. Almost every student has to face stress of exams, as for us, we must consider some tests about our major, for instance, CET-6 and TEM-8. And the majority of us should accept the stress from family. Our parents all hope that we can get a good job after graduation, they keeping reminding us of the significance of the future job no matter how hard we work in college. We also have stress from peers who try their very best to study, hence we must keeping moving in order not to lag behind them.
But before condemning stress outright, we need to understand that stress is only harmful when it is excessive. Some of the stress that we all experience is helpful and stimulating. The challenges of life tend to be
stressful and an attempt to avoid stress completely would lead to a rather boring existence. After realizing the causes of stress, we can manage them by means of balancing the two extremes. Maybe we can communicate with our parents and seek understanding and support from them. Besides, we can take part in outdoor activities. If necessary, we can put ourselves in nature temporarily and then we can forget something stressful.
Proper stress is the power of making progress,developing a balanced lifestyle,gaining ideas by discussing problems with other students or teachers,building a sense of life meaning and making stress stepping-stone in the way of success can help you relieve your stress in college.

We should promote a vibrant style of the team, a real study , the unity displayed a style of class and diligence to make personal style in a good environment. The students forge ahead and to the ideal of hard work. Learning positive, thereby creating a harmonious atmosphere for education.
With the development of society, harmony becomes the theme of this time. Everyone is doing his best to make the surroundings harmonious. As a member of our campus, we should take action in building the harmonious campus.
Here are some suggestions. First, treat people sincerely. We should be ready to help each other when someone is in trouble. Second, behave yourself. Keep our environment clean and take good care of every tree and every flower. Third, try to be polite. When we meet someone we know, a “hello” is good enough. Then, we can gain their respects for us.
Of course, there are still a lot of things we can do to build the harmonious campus. Anyway, doing something good to our campus is our duty. Let’s do it from now on.
Early in senior high school, we longed to be enrolled in a university. Nowthe dream has come true. But how do we college students like our campuslife?
Certainly, some relish it, finding it colorful and rewarding. Besidesstudy, they spend considerable amount of time improving themselves in variousaspect. Yet others do not think much of their college life, thus do not benefitas much. In their eyes, the university is just a bigger high school. The onlydifference is that they have more time at their disposal without parents lookingover their shoulder.
As to me, college life is ideal if only I have abundant books to read, somebosom friends to keep me company, a couple of conscientious professors toinstruct me.

前不久，老师教我们学了课间操中兔子舞和篮球操音乐的英文版。于是，课间操时就出现了这样一道亮耳的风景线：英语角的同学们在一边做操一边哼着歌。边上的同学听得心痒痒，也想跟着哼，可是哼出来的不是不在调上就是结结巴巴的。这下，我们就更得意了，翘着尾巴直哼哼！ 电视没有网络时，我们依旧玩得热火朝天。因为我们有社团一宝——骰子。这可不是普通的骰子，它的六个面分别是：做拱桥、脱一件、跳支舞、唱一首、真心话和抱一下。也许你会问：这跟英语有什么关系呢？听我慢慢道来，游戏的规则是：用英文数数，数到3的倍数时要说curtain，说错的同学，就要摇骰子来选择自己受罚的项目。游戏开始了，“one”,“two”，“three”，“哈哈……”，倒霉的同楚昊一上场就吃了败仗。该选惩罚了，骰子转啊转，转啊转……是真心话。同学们一个一个提问，这下可把周楚昊难为得够呛。 哈哈！“英语角”就像一个大家庭，热热闹闹的，我们都不想下课呢！
oanna:Today we are talking about some fruit-related idioms.
Jakki: Thats right. Today we are going to be looking at， in particular apples. So I think everyone knows about apples. Apples they come in so many different varieties. And for some reason in English, there are so many different idioms and sayings around apples.
Joanna: 苹果好像在英美文化中有非常重要的文化属性，所以有很多的idiom短语是跟苹果有关的。
Jakki: Thats right, so were going to take a look at a few here. So starting off, “as American as apple pie”, basically saying that apple pie is the epitome of being American, and so if you’re as American as apple pie, then you’re just very American.
Joanna:苹果馅饼是非常具有美国特色的一种食品，as American as apple pie 就是说像苹果馅饼一样极具美国特色。
Jakki: Yeah, so baseball, jeans, hamburgers, the American flag, fireworks on fourth of July, things like that.
Joanna: Disney, something like that.
Jakki: Yes, as American as apple pie. And the second one, you can compare “apples and oranges”. This is actually one of my favorite because what happens a lot of times that people like to make comparisons between what seem like are similar things. Apple and orange are both fruits, but if you look at them, its impossible to compare them because they are so different.

Jakki: Right. Theres “apple of someone’s eye”, so a favorite or a well-like person. So for example, my lover is the apple of my eye.
Joanna: So for anyone who has heard the song “youre the apple of my eye”, right?
Jakki: I have no idea what that is.
Joanna: What? Are you an American?
John:I am, but not as American as apple pie.
Xiaohua: Yeah, thats what Im going to say. 所以apple of ones eye 就是极为珍视的人，非常珍爱的人。
John: Then “the apple never falls far from the tree”, so a person’s personality traits are close to those of the person’s parents. This can be good and bad, in fact. And usually the way I remember to hearing it is in a negative context. You know his parents or her parents, they wont very nice people. The apple really falls far from the tree.
Joanna: I see. 这有点像中文里的有其父必有其子，“苹果落地离树不远”也是这个意思，这个短语有褒义也有贬义，但这里好像贬义的应用居多
Jakki: Then “as sure as God made little green apples” basically just means that you are very certain. So Im sure this, as sure as God made little green apples.
Joanna:当你对一件事情确认无疑毫无疑问的时候你就可以说as sure as God made little green apples.
Jakki: Then to be a “bad apple” or a “rotten apple” is to be a bad person. You can also say that “one bad (or rotten) apple can spoil the whole bunch (or barrel)” implies that one flawed person can basically undermine an effort or a group, and you can be “rotten to the core” to be thoroughly bad or worthless.
