We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.
Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.
Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting……

We are too careless in taking what we want without giving anything back.
There are more people than ever, living longer that ever. So is it any surprise that many areas suffer from too much development? Anyone living in or near a city has experienced “urban sprawl”. There is a new shopping area on every corner and new houses, townhouses and apartments everywhere. Traffic gets worse and worse because planners cant keep up with growth. Keeping up with human demand is hard enough. Environmental concerns come in last.
With growth comes pollution. Companies and communities dump waste into water. Landfills are full of trash. Emissions from factories pollute the air. Barrels of industrial waste and worse, radioactive waste, have no safe place to go. If were not careful, we can harm our planet beyond repair.
People need to respect the Earth and try to preserve it. If we dont, what kind of future will we have?

大家晚上好！
今天我非常高兴，因为我第一次站上了演讲台，也非常的激动，因为台下有如此多的眼睛在看着我。不知过了今晚，大家是否还记得这个戴着眼镜，留着平头的男生。古人有句话：一屋不扫何以扫天下？这是什么意思，我把它简单的理解为五个字：从小事做起！我们虽然都是成年人，但不要望了我们也是学生，我们是大学生。来到了学校，就应该有学生的样子，可我们有些同学就是眼高手低，大事干不了小事又懒的去做。看一看我们周围的环境，校道旁有随手乱扔的垃圾，教学楼雪白的墙壁上有钢笔留下的字迹，事故停电后的乱吼乱叫声，等等。这些不文明的现象，这些不文明的作风，都不应该是我们这群大学生的所作所为。这是大事吗？
不，这不是大事，这只不过是些芝麻绿豆的小事嘛，可为什么这些琐碎的事儿屡禁不止呢？难道是因为这都是些小事儿？难道是因为我们都是大学生吗？难道是因为我们都是知识分子吗？我们这些自以为是天之轿子的大学生们，总认为自己是不平凡的，是高贵的。其实不然，古今中外，凡成大事者，无不从小事做起，我们的大救星毛主席年轻时不也在北京图书馆当过义务管理员吗？那时的他被人瞧不起受人轻视，根本就没有什么地位可谈，但他并没有感到自卑，相反他更加认真工作，更加努力学习，以至后来投身于革命。说到这里，我又想起了我们学校的图书馆义务管理服务社，这个社团对于有些同学来说可能还很陌生，它在整个学校中的地位也是很低的，同学们自认为义务管理员到图书馆去，不过就是帮忙打扫卫生，擦擦窗户而已，事实上并非如此！

我们每一个人都有家，也都爱自己的家，可是你是否知道我们有一个共同的家呢？那就是我们的地球！地球就是我们共同的“家”，而且是一个很美丽的家，那有蓝天有白云，有绿树有红花，百鸟争鸣，多么美好的一切啊，可是我们有没有想过怎样去保护地球？ 20xx年10月15日航天员杨利伟和家人通电话时激动地说：“我看到我们美丽的家了”！这来自太空的声音，感动了多少中国人呀！
然而，今天，当我们再次面对“我们美丽的家”时，我们还能够说什么呢？蓝色的天空，曾经是生活中多么绚丽的一道风景，如今，在灰色的围困中，洁净的天空成为人们梦萦的一种渴望。面对日益严重的大气污染，仰望天空，你，还能说什么呢？知道一个叫草坝场的小村子吗？那个地方曾经是青山环抱，绿水长流，多美的一个地方啊！可是，村里人谁也没有意识到环境重要，他们毁林开荒，乱砍滥伐，森林渐渐被渐渐不见了，小溪渐渐干了，井水渐渐枯了。如今，这再也看不到青山，再也见不到绿水了，村里人用很少的水洗脸，然后留着洗脚，最后还小心翼翼地把水倒在一个大缸里……留着浇地呀……这是自然对他们的惩罚，这是地球对他们的报负啊！
同学们，人类只有一个地球。地球就是我们美丽、可爱的“家”！让我们携起手来，为我们的地球家园缔造一个美好的明天吧。

我们都知道，校园环境是一个学校的窗口，直观地反映了学校的精神风貌，体现了学校的文化氛围。洁净、舒适、安全的校园环境不仅是我们学习生活的需要，而且是陶冶情操的需要，营造优良的校园环境是我们每个人的神圣职责。为此，我们学校在第五周在初一、初二、高一、高二级开展了“爱我校园，美化校园”献花活动，四个年级的同学积极响应，怀着对学校的爱心，为学校的美化绿化贡献自己的一份力量。同学们有的把家里平时培育的盆栽献给母校，有的拿出自己积攒的零花钱购买鲜花带到学校，更令我们感动的是我们的家长带着孩子把家里培养的漂亮盆栽送到学校。几天的时间，上百盆品种各异的绿色植物，摆放在教学楼各楼层的各个角落，校貌顿时焕然一新，到处生机盎然。绿色是生命的象征，绿色代表了希望。小小的一盆植物，为全校师生的工作、学习、生活增添了色彩，给我们带来愉悦的心情。
与此同时，在上一周我们开展了全校性的“清洁校园大行动”的公益劳动，掀起了创建美丽校园的又一个高潮。一个星期来，我们各班同学在班主任老师的带领下，对教室和负责的公共场所进行全面清理。同学们不怕脏、不怕累，擦洗门窗，铲除地上的香口胶，擦去墙壁上的污迹，扫去天花板上的蜘蛛网，清洗教室、走廊、楼梯，捡走篮球场周边空地的垃圾、小石块。做到哪里不卫生，扫帚就扫到哪里；哪里的地板不干净，拖把就跟到哪里；哪里的墙壁有污渍，砂纸就擦到哪里。同学们齐心协力，用自己辛勤的汗水，为美化校园环境、创建绿色校园贡献了一份力量。
在此，我代表学校向在“爱我校园，美化校园”献花活动和“清洁校园大行动”中做出贡献的老师和同学们表示衷心的感谢！
同学们，两年前，我们学校提出“师生与学校共同成长”的目标，回顾过去的两年，目睹学校环境的变化，看到我们的同学的点滴进步，我们全校师生应该倍感骄傲和自豪。
特别是伴随我们学校走过了两个多年头的老师和初三、高三级的同学，相信大家会有更深的感触。还记得你们到学校注册时学校的样子吗？你还记得为了让大家活动，我们把篮球架放在校道上吗？你还记得那只见建筑废土不见一棵树的校园吗？两年过去了，如今的校容校貌已非昨日，昔日杂草丛生的荒地已经变成了现在师生们活动的四个篮球场；两年前光秃秃的校道两旁的绿化带树木正在茁壮成长；坑坑洼洼的单车场已经铺上了青红相间的地砖；礼堂与教学楼间的黄土地如今是令人心情舒畅的草坪，成为我们同学休闲的好去处；教学楼上的红色大字标示着学校的校训和文化依托。
今天，当我们走进校园，花香鸟语，绿意盎然，树木虽小，已形成了四季长青的园林环境；停放整齐有序的上千部单车成为学校的一道风景线；走上教学楼，教室窗明几净，走廊干净整洁，心情舒畅；早晨教室书声琅琅，上课学校一片安静，下午放学后操场上同学们生龙活虎。学校面貌的日新月异，老师敬业爱岗，学生勤学奋进，看着这些变化，我们感慨良多。一切的一切，并不是哪一位领导，哪一位老师，哪一位同学的功劳，而是我们全校师生凭着“自强不息”的精神，齐心合力，共同努力的成果。
同学们，我们容易吗？不容易！如果没有大家的敬业爱校，就不可能有宽敞明亮，窗明几净的教室供我们学习；如果没有大家的辛勤劳动和无私奉献，就不可能有优雅舒心，一尘不染的石椅让我们晨读美文，畅想未来；如果没有大家的无私奉献，就不可能有干净清新，绿树葱郁的校园让我们舒适地生活。
然而，在我们的同学清洁校园、清理垃圾杂物的同时，还有极少数同学毫不珍惜同学们的辛勤劳动，诸如把废纸片扔向教学楼窗外，把食物残渣丢在走廊，
楼梯口，把擦手的纸巾毫不顾忌地走到哪里丢到哪里，把吃过饭的快餐盒、食品袋随意乱扔，地面的`香口胶刚铲除有有人吐下，篮球场、礼堂、草坪还有饮料瓶、纸巾，卫生间还有烟头，等等。请我们的同学想想，你是否有这样的不文明行为，你这样做不感到惭愧吗？
同学们，有美丽的环境，才有美丽的心情，才更有学习的热情，我们绝大多数学生从早上到校学习，到下午离校，几乎一整天都在学校里，这里就是我们的第二个家，这里是我们学习和生活的地方。“清洁校园大行动”我们付出了艰辛的劳动，我们每一个人都是后溪这个大家庭的一员，我们更应该自觉维护好身边环境，在学习文化知识的同时，养成良好的卫生文明习惯。
现在，我向全体同学提出倡议：为了我们共同的家园，从我做起，从小事做起，从现在做起，用我们的实际行动来维护我们校园的永远干净、整洁、美丽。管住我们的口，不随地吐痰；管住我们的手，不乱扔垃圾、杂物，不乱涂乱画，不毁坏公物；管住我们的脚，不要践踏绿草，不要在墙壁上留下脚印。总之，管住我们所有不文明的行为。“捡起一片纸就是捡起文明”。让我们全体师生共同努力，维护好校园环境，让她永远整洁、漂亮、宁静有序，让文明之花在后溪这个大家庭绽放！

当我们从繁忙的的学习中抽身投入到大自然的怀抱，才蓦然发现我们的大自然母亲已经变得沧桑，失去了昔日的美丽与光彩------群山不再那么葱郁了，溪水不再那么清澈了，鸟儿的歌声也渐渐单调了，连我们美丽的校园也不再那么洁净了……
早晨第一缕阳光悄悄洒落在校园时，我们身处郁郁葱葱的树林，耳边是悦耳动听的鸟声，伴随我们清晨的读书声，是何等的心旷神怡？可是今天的校园却黯然失色。
校园为我们创造了第二个温暖的家园，是我们的乐园，我们的天堂，是知识的圣地，智慧的摇篮，是一方纯净的沃土。而我们却没有为这一方净土创造出良好的环境，难道不会觉得为此而惋惜吗？
亲爱的同学们，谁不希望自己的家园绿树成荫，天空明朗，小鸟飞翔；谁不希望在自己美丽清洁的家园快乐成长。
美的环境给人以美的享受，美的环境让人神清气爽，在美的环境里读书、学习更是一种快乐、一种幸福。夜深人静时，我们想到父母为了给我们一个良好的学习环境而含辛茹苦，学校为给我们一个良好的环境而高楼四起，窗明几净，老师为给我一个良好的环境而早起晚睡，孜孜不倦，而我们却不能为自己有一个良好的环境而不懈努力。
我们经常看到一些同学在校园里的各个角落捡拾果皮纸屑；用自己的双手去保护校园环境的优美。但是，我们仍然存在着很多不足：仍然有人乱丢纸屑、食品袋废弃物；仍然有人在草坪上肆意践踏；仍然有人在雪白的墙壁上乱涂乱画、在课桌上乱刻乱画；在学校的绿化带中，不时发现有深深的脚印、有的地方甚至走成了小道。看到这些作为一个受到高等教育的你的感受是怎样的？在这样的校园环境里学习能使你身心快乐吗？每当看到这样的情景，我们的心情总是非常的沉重，悄悄的拾起垃圾，但是，一个人拾，十个人丢，我们能拾得起吗？
当你见到废纸、食品袋、废弃物，你弯弯腰就可以做件好事了。当你要丢垃圾的时候，你应该想到，你这么随意的一丢，是不是符合一个学生应有的素质呢？
我们既然是校园的主人，就应当树立起我们的责任，坚守我们的岗位，着眼身边，立足校园，从我做起，从小事做起，从现在做起，从爱护我们的校园环境做起：一片纸，我们捡起；一滴水，我们节约；一堆垃圾，我们打扫；一朵花，我们珍惜；一棵草，我们爱护。我们要用自己的实际行动保护环境，培养绿色校园意识，让绿色生命激发我们热爱生活，热爱学习。

前几日，我到广场上骑自行车，发现不远处的草坪中有许多的白色垃圾，真是不计其数！可见我们的环保意识还不够强。说小一点儿，影响该地区的形象；说大一点儿，这是影响我们国家的形象啊！

提起环保，大家可能会想起我们伟大无私的地球妈妈，因为地球妈妈正因人类的不环保而日益衰老，还得了重病。你们说认为人类是个大孝子吗？不，不是，因为他们亲手让自己的母亲得重病，而且日益衰老，但是人类还不认错，不过，还有一些人类知错就改并且到处宣传，使地球妈妈早点康复。在这里我向大家提几条环保建议，也顺便也说说对环境的看法：
1、既然是环境保护，当然要先搞绿化了。希望全世界每个人争取每年种植一棵树，多搞一些退耕还林的宣传活动。
2、减少战争，减少核污染，因为有非常强的核辐射，会致人严重疾病和造成严重的环境污染。
3、力争20xx年底，所有的汽车全部更换成太阳能汽车，以减少汽车的尾气。
4、把工厂排出的污水进行净化，再流向庄稼或河流，并且不乱排废气，以减少污染。
5、开播一个专门的环保教育频道，对全世界的地球居民进行环保教育。
6、不要无节制的大肆开采资源，以导致资源枯竭。
7、环保，人人从自己做起，首先自己要做到不乱扔垃圾，不随地吐痰等。
8、向自己身边的人宣传环保教育。
9、组织一个环保队，向小弟弟和小妹妹们进行环保教育等。
最后，还是一句老话：保护地球就是保护人类自己。
